Information Thread for Potential New Chaos Units
Chaos is a term used variously to describe a mutating and corrupting force from the Realm of Chaos which manifests in the world. The ways of the Chaos Gods are evil, watching with amusement as mortals destroy each other and the world. Chaos has the potential to exist in all realms of the world because of the evil within mortal hearts. There are dark, secretive Chaos cults hidden in the Empire of Man, and there are rumors of Chaos worshipers amongst the Dark Elves. However, the true "Realm of Chaos" exists far to the north above the Chaos Wastes, a dead region of icy desert, mountain, and tundra. In the Chaos Wastes are the citadels and monuments of the proud champions of Chaos, those who have proven their worth to the Chaos Gods and have earned their blessing.
The wastes echo with the perpetual ringing of battle, as brothers fall on each other as eagerly as they fall on enemies, in the hope that one of the Chaos powers will take notice and raise them up as one of their favorites, bestowing supernatural gifts upon them. No one truly knows of the origins of Chaos in the world. Even the long-lived scholars of the High Elves can only speculate as to where the forces of Chaos first came from. War, famine, natural disaster and the destroyer known as time have eroded away nearly all indications of the roots of Chaos. What is known is that in the long distant past, the world was paid a visit by an already ancient star faring race of creatures never met by man. These Old Ones arrived on the world and quickly established two gateways on the world which floated above the northern and southern poles. This gateway was linked to the rest of their transportation network, allowing them nearly instantaneous transportation between gates.

Khorne
Khorne, known also as the Blood God, the Lord of Battles and the Hunter of Souls, is the Chaos God of War, Death, Courage, Rage, Strength and Hate. He is by far the greatest and most powerful of all the Ruinous Powers, for his domain encompasses the most primal of all human emotions - rage, hate and anger. The very name of Khorne is derived from the Dark Tongue word Kharneth, which means 'Lord of Rage'. Khorne is Lord of War and Death but also Lord of Martial Honour and Excellence at Arms and he is said to smile upon feats of valour, strength and blood-drenched warrior skill and revels in men who strive for glory in battle. He is the patron of proud warriors who set themselves against the odds and emerge triumphant through strength and skill, and is said to exalt the brave of both sides of the battle, while at the same time laying his terrible vengeance upon the cowardly and craven.

Lords and HeroesSpoiler Alert, click show to read:Bloodfathers = Amongst the many, many Norse clans who are dedicated solely to the bloody-minded worship of Khorne, another tradition of divination exists. One that abides by the strength of steel than the addled whispers of sorcerers: the terrible Bloodfathers. These warlike holy men are solitary by nature, and many deign to attend to the shrines and holy places of Khorne in isolation. It is whispered amongst the Norsemen that such is their strength and skill that no man can best a Bloodfather of Khorne in battle, for there is no trick of axe or sword that the Blood God has not revealed unto them.

Khornite Cult Acolyte = The diseased heart of any cult is the coven. It includes the true members of the cult who understand their allegiance and actively further the interests of the group. They serve as the Magus’ most trusted servants. To become an Acolyte, as many call themselves, they must have earned the Mark of Khorne.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...#Cult_Acolytes
Khornite Cult Magus = The most dangerous cults are those helmed by a Cult Magus. This leader is deeply corrupted by Chaos and bears one of its horrid Rewards. Too twisted to walk among mankind, the Magus must operate behind the scenes, issuing commands and edicts to his Acolytes, who in turn communicate the cult’s wishes to the rest of the organisation. Some Magi can communicate directly with their patron, but most must rely on intermediaries such as familiars. These magical creatures are similar to those employed by the Magisters but are always lowly creatures or impish Daemons. A few Magi use magic items that house the essence of a Daemon to bridge the distance between the world of Men and the Realm of Chaos.

Mortals and CultistsSpoiler Alert, click show to read:Bloodbulls = Doombulls of Khorne, sometimes called Bloodbulls or Khornebulls, often have red-tinged flesh and fur, and their horns are sheathed in heavy brass.

Khorngors = Khorngors are Beastmen who are sworn devotees of Khorne. They bear the favoured colours of the Blood God, have skin and fur which is brazen in colour, in some cases almost metallic, and their eyes are milky white with red pupils. Many are hound headed with large jaws and fangs which drip with saliva. The most favoured bear horns which take the shape of Khorne's skull rune. Khorngors are extremely tough and carry a substantial amount of armour, as well as being more organised and disciplined.

Norscan Berserkers = Berserkers are devotees of the Blood God Khorne, which is apt given Khorne's status as the Norse god of war and battle-frenzy. Indeed, in order to will themselves into the rage, the berserkers bellow the sacred battle-names of the Lord of Battles, invoking him and thus gaining a measure of his fury that they might destroy all who oppose them on the battlefield.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...scan_Berserker
Pitfighters = Another niche in which Khornates can hide in is in the pitfighting rings that are prevalent in the more lawless and morally lax parts of the Empire. Most of the individuals brought to do battle in these barbarous establishments are criminals and other wanted men. Once captured and put into these institutions, they often bring their heathenish faith with them.

The Bloodcursed = The Bloodcursed are unholy entities trapped in unending servitude to Khorne. They are usually created when they have offended the Blood God, they are flayed until there is nothing left but a pile of bones in a pool of blood. The spirit of the human is trapped within their blood, reforming in a mist of blood.

Daemon InfantrySpoiler Alert, click show to read:Bloodletters = Bloodletters compose the majority of the daemonic hordes of Khorne. They stand as tall as a man, but their bodies are thin and wiry, with crested backs and broad shoulders. Their skin is red and scaly. Their heads are elongated with long horns, sharp needle-like teeth and long serpentine tongues.

Exalted Bloodletters = Exalted Bloodletters are more favoured by Khorne and are more deadly, however they are, in turn, rarer. They are stronger, more durable but would be in smaller units. Probably they would be physically larger too, but not too much.

Malice Imps = Imps of Khorne are miniature warriors encased in black armour. They look like tiny Warriors of Chaos and indeed, they have the temperament of the most vicious Khorne Champion. Malices feed on rage and hate, inspiring both in mortals.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Imp
Daemon CavalrySpoiler Alert, click show to read:Bloodcrushers = Bloodletters who ride into battle atop the massive Juggernauts. Beasts of brazen brass and corded muscle, Juggernauts are incredibly resilient and strong. Their charge is powerful enough to smash through any battle line in one shattering stampede. While the Juggernauts are stomping and trampling their foes, the Bloodletter riders swing their own weapons, killing even more foes for their patron god.
http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Bloodcrushers
Daemonic MonstersSpoiler Alert, click show to read:Bloodbeast = Battle-maddened creatures living only to take the lives of others and reap skulls in the name of the Blood God. Brimming with this mindless fury, they will charge headlong into the forefront of battle, not caring whom or what it is engaged with. They can have many sorts of limbs and/or tentacles lined with razor-sharp barbs, rippling with muscle and dripping with gore. These are used to lash at enemies as the creature charges its foes, resulting in disarming and disembowelment.
http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Bloodbeast
Flesh Hounds = Flesh Hounds of Khorne are the Daemonic Hounds of Khorne. They are the terrible hunting beasts which Khorne unleashes upon those who have earned his wrathful displeasure, relentlessly pursuing their prey to the ends of the world.
http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Flesh_Hound
Juggernauts = They are massive daemons cloaked in sheets of steel and brass instead of flesh. Half-daemon, half-enchanted steel and sinew they stand taller than a man with blood of liquid fire. Juggernauts are ridden into battle by powerful mortal and daemonic minions of Khorne, for only those possessed of exceptional willpower can hope to control such a raging beast.
http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Juggernaut_of_Khorne
Daemonic MachinesSpoiler Alert, click show to read:Blood Throne = A given Blood Throne of Khorne is a baleful echo of that mighty cathedral upon which Khorne resides. It is a mighty daemon engine, armoured in brass and driven into battle by iron-shod wheels that crush and mangle all who stand in its path. The bloody carnage left in the engine’s wake is all but obscured by the choking black cloud of acrid soul-smoke that billows from its exhausts, the screams of its victims drowned out by the thudding sounds of industry harnessed to battle.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...ones_of_Khorne
Chariot of Khorne = Chariots of Khorne are the daemonic chariots used by the Blood God. The chassis of the chariot is built for maximum impact upon its charging into combat, while pulled by the massive juggernauts who add even further to the severity of the impact. The crew are made up of Bloodletters who fight from the sides whilst engaged. The physical chariot is also said to be alive as a daemonic soul is said to placed inside during its forging.
http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Chariot_of_Khorne
Skull Cannons = Skull Cannons of Khorne were forged in the furnaces at the foot of the Blood God’s throne and beaten into shape upon his mighty anvil. Some even believe that they might even have been forged by Khorne's hand, so murderously efficient and callous are they. The Skull Cannons are monstrous fusions of daemonic spirit and hellforged machinery. Their twisted and clinkered veins burn with the desire to shed blood and crush bones, to exult Khorne’s praises with every trampled foe.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...nons_of_Khorne
Greater DaemonsSpoiler Alert, click show to read:Bloodthirster of Khorne = The Bloodthirster is the very fury of war made manifest existing of unfettered primal rage and frenzy. Of all Daemons, of all the Chaos Gods, they bear the greatest resemblance to the stereotypical daemon, having a humanoid body, cloven hooves instead of feet, leathery bat-like wings and horned bull-like heads. They are armed with both a fiery whip and a massive two-headed battleaxe. They are without doubt the most warlike and aggressive of all Daemons.

Heralds of Khorne = They are the mightiest of the regular foot troop daemons of the Khorne. Heralds vary greatly in appearance and ability, which is decided by the god that they serve. They frequently ride the daemonic mounts of their god, or chariots pulled by them. Heralds of Khorne are the strongest physically of all Heralds. They are mighty warriors in close quarter combat, and terrorise their foes with an un-ending frenzied madness. They are as blood-hungry as Khorne himself and fight to show their honour and praise of him.

Nurgle
Nurgle, also known as the Plague Lord, is the Chaos God of Disease, Decay, Destruction and Death. In particular, the emotion of despair in mortals empowers him. He is known also as Grandfather Nurgle, the Lord of Pestilence, the Fly Lord, and the Lord of Decay. He is the eldest of the four Chaos Gods and is the most directly involved with the plight of mortals, particularly humans who suffer so acutely from a fear of death, perhaps the oldest fear of that species. While Nurgle is the God of death and decay, to be certain, he is also the God of rebirth. After all, decay is simply one part of the cycle of life, without which no new life could grow. In the same way, Nurgle is also the God of perseverance and survival. While those who wish to spread decay and corruption are certainly amongst his followers, there are also those who wish to endure, to become tough enough to handle the difficulties and opportunities presented by an uncaring universe. Many of those affected by Nurgle's poxes usually turn to him in order to escape the pain caused by sickness and disease.

Tainted Ones = The tainted ones are those that are most blessed and favoured by Father Nurgle. They hold a position of great importance within the hierarchy of the Carnival. They are often heavily robed and protected by powerful enchantments, for beneath their robes are unspeakable horrors.

Daemonic InfantrySpoiler Alert, click show to read:Bubo Imps = Imps of Nurgle are tiny versions of Nurglings, being delicate, fragile, foul, and green. They look like small withered peas but are dimpled with sphincters that issue foul yellow wetness. These creatures thrive on sickness.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Imp
Exalted Plaguebearers = Exalted Plaguebearers are more favoured by Nurgle and are more deadly, however they are, in turn, rarer. They are stronger, more durable but would be in smaller units. Probably they would be physically larger too, but not too much.
http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Plaguebearer
Nurglings = Nurglings are the most numerous of Nurgles's daemons, resembling miniature Great Unclean Ones with friendly, mischievous faces, and tiny, bloated foul-coloured bodies formed like living pustules or piles of pus. Like all daemons of Nurgle, They have a malicious but sociable nature, and are gregarious, agile and constantly active.
http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Nurgling
Plaguebearers = Bands of Plaguebearers are the most organised and efficient of daemons upon the battlefield, shambling purposefully towards a chosen foe before hacking them apart with Plagueswords. Should a foe endure long enough to strike back, his blows will have little effect on them, for their forms feel no pain and regenerate damage. It is their eternal role to herd Nurgle's daemonic forces in battle, as well as keep stock of the diseases, allocate appropriate fates to each new victim and attempt to maintain order amongst a naturally chaotic horde.
http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Plaguebearer
Slimehounds = When the hordes of Nurgle have grown great and the area is thick with the stench of disease and the slime of mutation, the Slime Hounds of Nurgle will crawl out from the depths to feed. Taking the form of a massive, black-spotted slug, the monster is a terrible amalgamation of razor sharp teeth, useless limbs, and barbed tentacles. It seems as if whatever mutations were left after creating his Spawns, the Father of Flies gifted these terrible creatures.

Daemonic CavalrySpoiler Alert, click show to read:Plague Drones = High-ranking Plaguebearers are known as Plague Drones; a title that conveys commendable humility, yet belies the power beneath. These stewards of Nurgle’s Garden ride into the mortal realm mounted upon Rot Flies. From their lofty positions the Plague Drones can properly tally the diseases running rife across the battlefield, as well as swiftly intervene should Nurgle’s divine plans meet with heavily-armed resistance.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...ones_of_Nurgle
Pox-Riders of Nurgle = The foetid mere that serves the Plague Father as a realm has spawned all manner of daemonic beasts, and the lesser of these such as Plague Toads, are often corralled and herded into battle as mounts by Nurgle’s Plaguebearers, who go lolloping into battle atop these verminous horrors to taint and slaughter mortals, in a tide of nightmarish horrors.

Daemonic MonstersSpoiler Alert, click show to read:Beast of Nurgle = The Beast is driven by its craving for attention, greeting newcomers by slobbering all over them with its tentacles. This attention poses no threat to other creatures of Nurgle, but it proves fatal to mortals. Once its new playmate has stopped moving, it shifts attention to another victim. In this way, in its excitement it leaves a trail of death and destruction.
http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Beast_of_Nurgle
Bile Trolls = Bile Trolls were tainted in ancient days by consuming the rancid corpses of a defeated Nurgle-worshipping horde, and now suffer a twisted, hellish existence; poised in an eternal struggle between the formidable regenerative powers of their unnatural metabolism and the most potent plague-gifts of the Rot-Lord.

Gutterlings = They were once men of the north. Every one of them fell foul of the Glottkin, and as was so often the fate of such individuals, they were eaten whole by Ghurk. They were slowly twisted into terrifying Chaos Spawns in his guts, their twisted flesh echoing the mutations of Ghurk himself.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/The_Gutterlings
Plague Toads of Nurgle = Plague Toads are mutated, pseudo-amphibian sacs of brackish filth and pus whose wide maws can swallow a man whole. Plague Toads are drawn to places of disease and decay, and in such places those versed in the lore of the Plague Father can summon these daemon-vermin and bind them to their will.
https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/D...oads-of-Nurgle
Rot Flies = As the Rot Flies fall upon their prey, blade-sharp legs sink into flesh and leathery wings buzz in a flapping purr of motion. Prehensile probosces and posterior mouth-parts latch onto the faces of their victims, and the Rot Flies let out titters of mean-spirited laughter as they pluck heads from necks and swallow them whole. Given the chance Rot Flies will hunt down the impertinent mortals that slew their previous incarnations.

Daemonic MachinesSpoiler Alert, click show to read:Chariots of Nurgle = Chariots of Nurgle, also known as Plague Chariots, are the daemonic chariots used by the Chaos God Nurgle. These chariots are, put simply, careening, soggy, rotten wagons. They are crewed by Plaguebearers and pulled by the filthy Beasts of Nurgle.

Palanquin of Nurgle = Great Unclean Ones are Daemons with a sense of the dramatic. They enjoy the decorative trappings of power almost as much as they enjoy power itself. The Palanquin of Nurgle is an ornate and mobile throne that allows the Great Unclean One to be carried aloft by a tide of surging Nurglings. The tiny creatures propel the Palanquin wherever their master wishes. From his elevated position the Greater Damon is able to speak to his slaves, or strike at his foes, confident that he will remain the centre of attention at all times. The Palanquin itself is decorated with mouldered finery, while the Great Daemon rider sits casually upon a mound of decaying cushions. Palanquins may also be gifted to Champions and Plaguebearers.

Greater DaemonsSpoiler Alert, click show to read:Great Unclean One = Great Unclean Ones are Greater Daemons of Nurgle, the Lord of Decay. They appear as large bloated creatures, oozing pus and revealing diseased organs through their ragged skin. They are often accompanied by Nurglings, who gaggle about the Great Unclean One's feet, nibbling on whatever carrion he may discard as he advances. Great Unclean Ones carry immense rusty blades, capable of infecting whomever it slices. Often they also carry flails, made of rusty chains and skulls of those, who died through their diseases. The Daemon is despicably tough, from being both large in stature, as well as numb to pain through aeons of disease.

Heralds of Nurgle = Daemonic Heralds are the mightiest of the regular foot troop daemons of Nurgle. Heralds vary greatly in appearance and ability. They frequently ride the daemonic mounts of their patron god, or chariots pulled by them. Heralds of Nurgle are among the most loathsome, festering creatures in the Old World. Nurglesque Heralds are crafted from the blighted soul-stuff of the most resilient mortals who have eventually been slain by Nurgle's Rot. Nurgle's Heralds wield very rusty blades known as Plagueswords.

Maggot Lord = In ancient days the great horde of Tamurkhan the Maggot Lord swept out of the Northern wastes despoiling all before it. Great Slaughter they brought to many lands as Tamurkhan sought the Throne of Chaos. Riding to war atop his great Toad Dragon Bubebolos, Tamurkhan dealt ruin and death to all that stood in his way. The toad dragon looks awesome, could make for a new unit?

Nurge Daemon Prince = Daemon Princes are among the most morbid, disease ridden creatures in all the Old World. Nurglesque Daemon Princes are created from the blighted soul-stuff of the most resilient of Father Nurgle's mortal followers. Nurgle's Daemon Princes wield very rusty weapons which drip with the most noxious of infections which in combination with their bloated nauseating bodies make very repulsive, intimidating beings. Sorcery is one gift which can be bestowed to a Nurglesque Daemon Prince. They are the slowest and largest of all Daemon Princes, but are also the toughest and most resilient.

Creaking wheels and the clop of hooves at dusk announces its arrival. From the gloom emerges a procession of wagons drawn by emaciated horses. Sons of the Last Plague = Connoisseurs of pestilence, these redoubtable warriors were tireless in their pursuit of new plagues to sample. The Rot Knights = A mighty champion in his own right, Kayzk came to command his own warband of Kurgan horsemen, who followed his path of decay and became known as the Rot Knights for the fetid, half-Daemon beasts they rode into battle - vile, mutilated creatures whose cancerous flesh rapidly wept pus over any wound they sustained, suturing them shut.

Tribe of the Bloodshot Eye = The savages known as the Tribe of the Bloodshot Eye sought the favour of Nurgle by staring nightly at the great orb of Morrslieb.
