Are there any tools available to extract the packs and mod the game?

Some key text files have been made available (see the official totalwar.com forum and other places to locate and download). Other files, such as maps, were already unpacked. This allows us to access ancillaries, traits, province info and alter that. But a lot of other stuff (adding factions, changing skins, etc) has to wait until they give us the official unpacker, which is supposed to come out with the patch. They SAY this is a few days away.

None of the unofficial unpackers I have tried work, because there is some kind of compression or encryption (I've heard various explanations, I'm no expert myself) on the packed files. So you can unpack them, but they're unreadable jibberish.
