Submission 2: The East is Red!l
The Chinese Revolution is at its darkest point. After taking brutal losses during the Long March across China, the Communist forces have barely anything left. With few men and little territory, the Chinese Communists are surrounded on all sides by many enemies. Bloodthirsty warlords rove across China building their armies and making war. The Japanese Empire looks at China greedily, ready to strike at any moment. The Nationalists have lost their mandate to rule, instead preferring to crush their opponents with an iron fist. Can China be saved from this disaster? Can the Revolution finally be completed?
The East is Red! is a Hearts of Iron III AAR depicting the struggle of Mao Zedong and members of the Communist Party of China as they struggle with their small state locked in constant civil war against titanic bourgeois and fascist forces in China. An ancient civilization stuck in the past with millions of people living under the rule of tyrants, can the Communists save China and propel it forwards into a future of justice and progress? Or will they fail and fall into the history books as just another troublesome revolt?
The entire tale is pitched under the epic backdrop of World War II, the largest war ever fought in the history of humanity. This is the story of leaders, armies, and politics on the global scale as the Revolution retakes massive China one step at a time.
