Faction Description:
Dark, lidless, wreathed in flame! The Great Eye ever gazes, passing to and fro over the realms of this, Middle Earth. It stands solitary, unchallenged upon the pinnacle of Barad-Dur, ever watching, ever searching. While the Lord Sauron will soon have dominion over all, he yet lacks one thing. The nine he commands, the seven are scattered, and the three he knows, but the One, the One is yet lost to him. For that he will ever be searching, his need, his desire for it will never be quenched. And what is more, woe, woe to them that would hide his prize, rebels and thieves who would resist his will and keep what is not theirs! They will be dealt with swiftly and without mercy, for he shall find it, and when he does, none shall withstand him in the day of his Retribution!
In his just anger he has sought the perfection of his servants:The once wretched orcs now bread as tall and strong Uruks. Transformed from a witless rabble into an organized force, solely bent upon fulling the will of their Master. His Black Legions now have no fear of dawn, the accursed elves are wise enough to flee to their lands far across the sea, but men and dwarves will not be so fortunate. Beside these the master breeds all manor of fell creatures in the dungeons of his High Tower, terrible and great Olag-Hai, wargs and other more dreaded servants of darkness. Legions of Southrons and Easterlings, loyal to the Black Tower pour in everyday. Our full strength will now be unleashed against the weak and king-less land of Gondor. Finally it's accursed rebellion will cease, it's towers crumble and fortresses burn, Men will learn a fresh to fear, to cower before the Great, the Terrible, the Dark Lord, Sauron, to whom all owe allegiance! His power will reach from the vast eastern deserts to the havens of the accursed elf folk. None can abide his will, none can withstand his fury and vengeance, ages old and terrible! His legions will sweep across the land, all shall bow and despair. Shadow and unending night, a red sun with no dawn, an unending rule of total power, unchangeable, immutable and above all, powerful!
Who now could oppose us? Elves, no they flee across the seas. Dwarves, they ever dealve deeper into the mountains, hoping to escape the night that falls above the ground. And what strength is left in men? King-less bereft of strength, they quiver and shake behind their tall walls, for they know a storm is coming that they cannot abide! For this final stroke the Black Land is now mustering, to crush utterly and finally all resistance to his will. He is sending forth the clouds of war to ease our passing across the lands, and there is a new craving for man flesh in the Lands of Mordor! Our lord beckons, the hour is at hand! Now send forth the legions, and cover all lands in a second and total darkness!

Faction Overview:
Campaign;
Mordor's largest unique feature on the campaign map will be it's tributary recruitment system. All factions that have an alliance with Mordor (including human players) are required to send him tribute both of gold and soldiers. This will be done for human players through the "minor missions" of the Mordor mission system which will be previewed later.
Besides this Mordor boasts a strong slave run economy with an incredibly secure starting location, being surrounded by impassible mountains. It's only direct threat is Gondor to it's West.
Multiplayer and Military:
The Dark Lord's roster boasts an array of footmen of all types. From cheap cannon fodder orcs, to punishing trolls, the strength of Mordor is undoubtedly in it's infantry. However it also is filled with various supporting troops, archers, wargs, wolves and horsemen giving the player access to many different strategies and options of play.
one of Mordor's greatest tools is fear, many of it's units cause fear as a passive battlefield ability, it's generals also have the ability to strike fear into the hearts of their foes, causing their prey to flee before them until they are devoured. Orcs will also recieve a combat bonus in "Night" battles and a malus in "Day" battles.

Sauron commands us to destroy all resistance, and so we burn and pillage all lands that defy us and bring the plunder to the Great Eye!

Orcs are inherently cruel, whether they are trained or not, few can restrain them in their mad blood lusts. These raiders feed on brutality and slaughter, relishing the chase, and perusing those that flee. However they may loose their eagerness when their fleeing prey turns and fights.

The Orc has long been the foot soldier of the Dark Lord, his brutality and strength make him a force to be reckoned with on the field. These warriors come armored in cloth and leather carrying blackened scimitars and hide shields, ever ready to carry out the bidding of the Eye, less they should suffer his whip.

Long Description:
The Dark Lord has few fears, but one that often troubles him is the fear of horsemen, fierce warriors able to trample his hordes. But he will suffer no fear to be substantiated, so he has armed many of his servants with long and cruel pikes to ward off any "would be heroism". These orcs keep to the front of the formation to provide an iron wall in the face of the enemy.

They act as a skirmish arm of the shadow and a reserve for the front lines.

Missions:
Mordor will have a unique mission system as will every other faction, but due to our teams focus on the multiplayer Alpha release we will preview Mordor missions at a later time when we know more about campaign features.
