Thread: Region adding, need files.

  1. #1

    Default Region adding, need files.

Hi all, I'm trying to add more regions and I know I have to edit files that are packed, and I know that they have been put up for download on another site. Problem is the bandwidth has exceeded, and I can't find anywhere else to download the text files. Can someone help me out with them? Either put them up here or e-mail them to me? That is if they're not too big.

    Many thanks.

Ah that's only data files, is there a mirror up for the text files aswell? On the other site they only have a mirror for the data files aswell. I'm looking for the "imperial_campaign_regions_and_settlement_names.txt" as I understand I need to make changes to be able to add regions.

Also, I tried registering there to post on the thread but I didn't get the confirmation email, or even when I tried again with a 2nd email address, anyone know why?

    Many thanks.

Erm that one was never *in* there - this IS the package as I got it from the .org. Those ARE the textfiles from CA - I didn't CALL it datafiles, it was CALLED that already. AFAIK there is no newer or more extensive version.

Had to create that particular file myself, so:

Heres an older version of mine -vanilla compatible - should work ok, change at will

Put into the dir (create it if necessary)

    C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\*yourmodname*\data\text

If you're just editing it without makign it a seperate mod then you can ignore the yourmodname bit and just put it in

    C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\data\text

That is assuming you have it installed in the default path.

Which files are you looking for anyhow? Any particular mod, or 'vanilla' files?

String.Bin Converter - extract into data\text - run 'convert_all' - needs Python 2.6 installed (nothing newer then that).

What happened when you clicked on the convert_all.bat file? Was it in the data\text folder together with the strings_bin_converter.PY?
What version of Python did you install?
