- NCDS National City Defense System "Iron". This is a massive gameplay modification that targets the city defense national support garrison system. Each city that is/was owned by a national faction (not rebels) will spawn a spear unit for each siege equipment when completed by attacker (*5 rams = 5 spear / 1 ram = 1 spear). Note- in the original capital cities 1 ram = 2 spear. This system is for AI and player but does not apply when assaulting with catapults and such. It is consider that the attack is so fast that the defenders didn't had time to prepare and call for reinforcements because the attack may happen in the same turn. This system helps counter the initial rapid player/AI expansion tactics. If the local AI faction will try to retake their city the local city troops will not spawn and fight against them.
- CCNG Capital City National Garrison. This system basically spawns a national small garrison army in defense of the capital city. It only applies when the human player is attacking and it is meant to increase the fun. Even if the capital was conquered by another faction if you are not the local faction it is considered that the remnants of the local nobles (traitors) who are allied with the new ruler will fight against you. Jerusalem and Constantinople are the cities who have the most interesting defending armies based on the local owner religion too (*especially Jerusalem).
