Hmm, where did the fast reply go?
Anyways, you have to use city development, it's too bad ass
Yeah, and look for the regions with ivory as a trade resource.

Can you be more specific? In what ways do they look awkward? Although I should think they were awkward to some extent!

Thing is, they weren't normal; Tolkien himself described them as 'large elephants of prehistoric size', and 'the Mūmak of Harad was indeed a beast of vast bulk, and the like of him does not walk now in Middle-earth; his kin that live still in latter days are but memories of his girth and majesty.'
I like our Mūmakil

The only problem that I've seen with them, and I don't mind, is that their size makes them walk through (clipping) the upper part of gateways.
Concerning the size: I like it. Normal elephants wouldn't be very accurate, and the ones on the movies were way too big.

The Oliphaunts in this game are more than double the size of their real-life African/Indian Elephant counterparts. They're already huge.
African Elephants stand at an average of 10 - 13 feet tall and average at 19 - 24 feet in length - their tail average at 4 feet long. Compare that to an in-game Mumakill:
