Loading screen ideas

Thought these might work as loading screens - lots of them so we could choose only the best ones. I also like the architectural stuff we've got at the moment.










The other thing is whether to go with the generic Rome Total War bit or add in Roma Surrectum somewhere. Obviously these are jpgs so the quality is a bit higher than this. Could also do some colour filtering:

They are very nice. I can use to fill in a few generic screens. I really like the one with the Leg XXVIII standard....I want something to replace the opening screen, and that looks good. Are you able to put the 'Roma Surrectum' logo on it like the currect one, only with the gold letters. I don't know how people do that.

What do you think about colours? Shall I go for the toned down option like the middle one at the bottom or keep it bright?

Oh my! That is nice. Would like the lettering to be a little darker gold.
I would prefer the images to look like Lusted's do in TE...especially the Legion marching down the road thru the woods. Love that picture.

And, I guess while I'm asking.....Legio V Macedonica has a really neat 'Black Eagle' standard that would be cool, and Legio I Minerva (like the one currently in the game) is neat too. Eventually, I'm going to work more on all the standards to make them look more like these...different colors and more individualized. Could you get a couple of those?

I'm just doing some more custom battles to get some of the other legions.

Fortunately my old graphics card died a couple of weeks ago and have been enjoying the thrills of an overclocked BFG Geforce 7600GS since. What a difference it makes - can now play with all settings on max

BTW where do I find the first loading screen (Minerva legion) in the Roma Surrectum folder? I've changed out loading_screen_6 (Minerva) in the data/loading folder but it's not changing the title.
Do you want some of these tga files for patch 3? I've got about 20 or so.

tone, those shots are just beautiful -- black definitely works better as the border than purple. Those are perfect.

Possible Ideas for Loading Screens
Seeing as Tone had produced a plethora of (fantastic) unit-based screenshots; I thought I’d balance it out a bit by looking for some grand architectural pictures.
(N.B A few of these pictures have small logos in the corner, which wouldn’t be hard to remove)

Very nice. You did better than me at finding some good architectural stuff.
I think though that whether we use screenshots or architectural stuff or a mixture of both (particularly if we go for this option as it would tie everything in together really well) it'd be good to have some sort of border on it.
The other thing I'm playing around with is customising the Rome Total War logo bit. Will try and upload some shots soon.

The loading screen is 'splash.tga' in the 'menu' folder. CA's got them splattered all over.
And yes, I'd love to have these.
I'm wondering if others were put in the folder (more than originally) the game would randomly use them. Have to try that. There's 19 of the now, but like 20, 21, etc.

Tyr, I noticed something funny last night as I was working to include a few of the shots you put up. Take a 'closer' look at the one of 'Stone Henge' from the History Channel I was about to add it when I noticed something didn't look right about it........pretty good 'fudge-job' by somebody.
