Trolls vs wooden stakes?

A question just bumped into my head, since Trolls are coded as Heavy Cavalry, do wooden stakes affect them in any way? I know Ents just plow right through them, but IIRC, they are labeled as elephants.

I would just do a quick custom battle to see, but I think this is a good question to have on the board in case anyone else wants to know.

Trolls are heavy infantry, not cavalry. So no, stakes don't work.

is there actually any unit labeled as cavalry but that does not look so? I think that due to the stake issues, all of them have been removed (if existed at all)

All my crap is coded as elephants. You have to classify a unit as elephant to give it attack animations. Cavalry (the horses) do not attack, the rider does since they are the actual unit. It is actually possible to make the mount and rider both attack independently though (pretty crazy stuff), which allows wolves/wargs and their riders to attack on their own, as well as warhorses and their riders which would be more realistic than the horse just standing around since it should be a weapon itself. It looks and works great except for one thing, the riders disappear when you zoom in real close on the unit. They are still there and attacking you just can't see them up close for some reason. I haven't gotten around to figuring out what is causing it so I never released it.

It may be possible to make elephants die (or at least be hurt) by stakes, I haven't tried it yet.
