Default [Artifex] paleologos (Patron Mega Tortas de Bodemloze) [PASSED]

    My Part

    paleologos
is a true modders modder, and most possibly the most patient man that Total War Center has ever had to grace it's doors. He's succinct and to the point, so I'll try and be the same when it comes to talking about him. What strikes me the most about him is that he freely gives of himself without seeking gain or any type of profit from it. When wrong he accepts the responsibility of the action{s}, and becomes better through the experience. Speaking of missteps, yes he had one recently shown here...

    The date: July 28, 2015 11:17 PM
It was a one pointer for off topic - he was a bit enthusiastic about posting a picture '10 times' in the same thread. A very mild case and a one pointer only because he had another, still pending, off topic note sometime prior to that (automatic increment applied for the one pointer) in the same thread, one of those "Hot topic of the moment " threads - else it would only have rated a note.
The picture was an attachment which got lost - but considering the wording of the infraction it wasn't the picture itself but the repeated use that was the cause of the penalty.

paleologos takes great strides to be historically accurate with his creations, and to me that tenacious type of zeal can only be admired. So in short,

"He Creates, He Shares said creations, and He helps other in need when and where he can."

I profoundly thank Gigantus for our introduction, and I am very grateful for the privilege of being able to place paleologos' Citizenship Application before you'all today. Thanks for taking time out of your schedules, to give us the once over.

    paleologos part
    Esteemed Citizens of TWC,

Let me start my application with expressing my deep and sincere gratitude to you for all the good times that your community has allowed me to experience since my acceptance as a member back in February of 2011.
A gratitude that also extends to cover the very few not so good times as these are always ample reason for any of us to grow into our best.

It would be effortless to say that the reason for me to become a member was my desire to give to the community. However, five years ago I was in no position to be nearly as useful as the people in the modding forums of M2TW who were patiently tending to all of my newbish needs. The true reason I became a member is that I wanted that help.

    Now the roles are reversed.

Many a time I was given the opportunity to help newcomers to the “sport” of graphical modding of the game but I will never have the opportunity to reciprocate the good that was done to me, to the people who did that good. The reason is simple, they don't need it. And this is not even a problem because once more I will take what I can and what I can take is even better than reciprocation. It is emulation. I want to be no less generous to others than the people who allowed me to hone my modelling skills with the benefit of their experience. This community has empowered me to do exactly that.

Meanwhile I was not content with being a tutor. I had in my hands a game that was open to modification and at the same time did not take nearly the full advantage of the technologies upon which it had been built. That is the very stuff of an irresistible invitation. And so I went on modelling, unitl my work caught the eye of a no longer active member, Andytheplatypus. It was him who introduced me to his mod, Titanium. For those of you who are not familiar with my modelling work, links are provided. Works include not only models but also textures and a couple of tutorials.

In any case that is the short story of me. I know that I can trust your consideration to be duly diligent, so I see no need to require any more of your attention on the matter. I will nonetheless take this opportunity to extend my gratitude to my gracious and patient sponsor, Mega Tortas de Bodemloze and my friend and mentor Gigantus for introducing the two of us.

And that esteemed citizens on TWC, just about sums it up.

    Your decision is respectfully awaited,
    Very Best of Regards,
    paleologos

    Mega Tortas, I hate you

More seriously, I know Paleologos for a while, first because his one of the devs of Titanium (and we, SSHIP devs, share and help with them when we can) and also with his numerous helpful posts in the Medieval Workshop. He always want to help and share his experience. On the other hand, he still wills to learn to improve his skills as well.
For several months now, Paleologos has also been active among the Graphic Workshop forum, sharing his work but also commenting the one from others, always in a constructive manner, and encouragiung them as well.

All in all, speaking for myself, I support this

I don't beleive in holding back, so yes...a minor amplfication. However I'm sure you'll snake a couple of my kids from Third Age/Divide & Conquer and then I'll be able to return the sentiment ten fold.
Now on a serious note, there are many folks in the Stainless Steel/Third Age forums whose contributions should be acknoweldged. We could start there and radiate outward til we{collectively} reach the four corners of the site.

I have no problem with that and will start to look for suitable candidates in order to be ready once my 3 months "trial" period ends
    Thanks for the tip

    Back to the application.

Paleologos recently repped one of my posts, so he must be citizen material.

Let's try that again. Based on what I see of his contributions and on a bit of interaction I had with him regarding some of his work that is used in DCI:LA (see the "credits" section) I have no doubt he deserves the badge.

Folks who make tutorials, provide resources and are aiding fellow modders always get a huge plus in my book.
To that, as Veteraan pointed at, we've had use of it for DCI, so an extra thumbs up.

    I'm in favour
