just downloaded the mod.
looks great.the persian units really match the imagination i had about my ancestors xD.
but were the hoplites really as strong as they are in the mod? if so then no wonder how alexander could defeat the persian that easily cuz the persian units(the best of them with yellow linen clothes)don`t use shields and wear so little armor while the hoplites are sunken in iron!it is nearly impossible to defeat the greeks with persians.(at least for me)

DONT WORRY... the hoplites are allready nerf'd in ROP 3

but, a good tip would be: use your superior cav and archers to full effect... remember, they are vounerable from behind (god that sounds like rape)

yeah i started using hit and run tactic or charging them with my infantry and while they were fighting i charged them with my horses from behind and making a sandwich of them greak bastards(no offence to the real life greaks)

Remember to use the javelins before charging, also, try use this formation

Archer-Archer-Spear-Spear-Sprear-Spear-Archer-Archer
Cav-Cav Cav-Cav

engage the enelies with your spears, move the archers behind the enemy, hunt down skirmishers with the cav and if the enemy havent broken, use the cav for rear charges...

alexander didn't conquered persians easily no conquest is easy.

the arastibara (the yellow linen clothes) are not persians elits the Immortals are (anushiya) the arastibara were palace gaurds and will be unrecruitable and unmoveable in ROP 3 so you have like 83 of them that can't even be retrained, ( how ever I asked bull for help and he said that he will tell me how to make them normal again when v3 comes out .

I actually respect the greeks they were awesome and they still are .

yeah.but the best tactic is the hit and run tactic.hoplites are heavy they cant keep up with ur light infantry.pepper them with arows.the when they come close retreat back.and always try to attack them with arrows javelins or slinger from front and rear,they will be dead in no time.

well that tactic was the best tactic against the greeks historically that actually y parthians kicked the sluckid greeks out of iran (the pathian shot) they used their light horse archers to soften the hoplites and the cataphracts (zerehbara) was used for the last shock blow.
