Default [UPDATED! New shield patterns!] Brivime's Age of Charlemagne Anglo-Saxon reskins!

This mod simply reskins most of the English units to be a bit more interesting to look at - within the bounds of historical accuracy. Later on I hope to add more units to all the British rosters.

    New Shield Pattern previews:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Mores screenshots can be found on the Steam Workshop page!

    CURRENTLY RESKINNED UNITS:

    Fyrd Archers
    Fyrd Spearmen
    Fyrd Axemen
    Fyrd Javelinmen

    Select Archers
    Select Spearmen
    Select Axemen

    Royal Companions
    Royal Horsemen

    Thegns
    Thegn Spearmen

    Horsemen

All Celtic, Welsh, Irish and Pictish units.

Credit goes to the Brytenwalda mod team for their extraordinary Anglo-Saxon helmets.

I recommend you use this mod with Little Legionaire's colored spears mod:

And of course, Age of Britannia:

    CHANGLEOG:

    This Update:

-Added x10 new Anglo-Saxon shield textures including ones for elite units.
-Ported new helmets from the M&B: Warband mod Brytenwalda
-Two new tunic definitions, gives fyrd units more diversity
-Several units have been touched up, looking much better and historically accurate than they were before.

    Last Updates:

-Reskinned all Celtic and Gaelic units

Recommend you use them with one of the many mods that make factions playable in Attila, Picts, Welsh and Irish all have unique units with a different ethnic look about them.

    -Added new Anglo-Saxon tunic textures
-Added more historically accurate helmet variety
    -Fixed Officer's missing sleeves bug
-All units now have different coloured shield variations, elite and units have patterned shields.
-Added chainmail to 'Select' units as is historically accurate, plainly clothed units are also in the mix.

    Next update:

-New clothing for Celts and Gaels, including the iconic long robes and vests for certain cultures.
    -More tunic patterns for Anglo-Saxons
-More historically accurate leather helmets for Anglo-Saxons
-Leather corselets for some Fyrd and Welsh units

    Future units planned:

    Early Period:

Ceorl Axemen - Middle class levies armed with axes, small round shields and wearing normal clothing. Upgrades to Fyrd Axemen.

Duguth Spearmen - Old or veteran warriors with spears and small round shields, well trained and act as an old guard. Regular clothes, leather armor and more helmets than the Geoguthas. Upgrades to Select Spearmen.

Geoguth Spearmen - Young warriors levied in times of war, armed with spears and small round shields, trained and make up the bulk of the warband. Regular clothes and some helmets. Upgrades to Fyrd Spearmen.

Gedrihtas - Warlord's companions, armed with swords and round shields, well trained and serve as an early bodyguard unit. Chainmail, cloaks and spanglehelms. Upgrades into Royal Companions.

Brythonic units for Mercia (Levy Spearmen and Skirmishers)

As well as several new Celtic and Gaelic units including Irish Axemen and Cliathairi spearmen.

I would love with every fiber of my being to add Huscarls, unfortunately they do not arrive in England until the Danish conquest. If anyone has any suggestions for additional units please let me know!

Feedback is always appreciated, please leave your suggestions below!

Knowing what you've worked on previously, I initially expected you to do something on Ummayads first; but you're more than that.

It was the first thing I planned to do for AoC however... ever since I was a wee lad watching viking documentaries on my grandma's VHS I've been in love with Dark Ages Britain - so when I saw that the Anglo-Saxon troops were all clones with the same phygrian caps and tunics I simply could not allow it.

Updated with new tunic textures, more to come in the next update as well as a full Celtic reskin! I've been delaying on the new units because I've got a ton of research to get through among other things in life but they should be up soon.
