Patrols are always ambushed?

This seems a bit backwards to me. Isn't the entire point of a patrol to keep watch for danger? I can understand having an economy focused stance, and having that stance be ambushed in any combat...it just seems odd when that stance is called a "patrol". This is obviously pretty minor, to the point of not even really mattering, but maybe it could be renamed to "Support Region" or something?

Perhaps it could be renamed. But patrolling the region in small groups looking for bandits and protecting trade caravans and travellers from bandits doesnt not mean that you are on the look out for enemy armies. Therefore you are in risk of being ambushed. If you do not actively look for enemy armies you wont notice one before its too late. To me the stance makes perfect sense even with its current name

The idea of stance is that all troops are spread out in the province helping with maintaining order and stuff so if the enemy attacks they try to get to the army point hastly and are not prepared for combat.

Perhaps military policing would be a better term to use, although it may not be the historically accurate term.

Patrol stance.. If you think about what the idea behind it is. The name makes sense. A stance where the army patrols the region, upholding law and order and guaranteeing the safety of trade caravans and travellers.

Still makes no sense; because they are still constituted as an army; you wouldn't send out your entire force to do something like that. If anything you would set up a base camp somewhere, or assume one, and operate from there. It would be more realistic if it resulted in the army being in a fort with 10-20% of the units missing.

Imo, hard to make exact sense due to engine limitations. but you could see it as, they are spread out doing other stuff and not prepared to engage in a full army vs army confrontation (in the very least you'd have to gather your men back together to form cohesive group)

in this way you are at a disadvantage / not well prepared when another army attacks you.

if you want to be more realistic, maybe just give them some combat stat penalties when attacked as a patrol? perhaps even less stamina(probably not doable), like they started out being winded/tired since they just had to hastily gather up again from their others tasks ...
