Why so limited on factions

I was kind of hoping to play the US or Mughal Empire. Will other factions become playable in the future?

Check the Game Play tweaks section in the Total War Mod Threads forum under the section of Miscellaneous. (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forum...-Miscellaneous) All you'll need is to lift one of them and put it in place. That will allow you to get started as one of the previously unplayable major powers. ER should continue to work normally, though the starting units for various powers is likely to be different.

Its mostly decision not to make way too big structural changes.. if you wanna play USA, you can always start their own campaign via Tutorial campaign. last Episode opens 1783 campaigns where you can play as USA.. it kinda doesn't make sense unlocking them earlier (and you have also option to play American revolution in episode 2)..
