"There is a difference between what is wrong and what is evil. Evil is committed when clarity is taken away from what is clearly wrong, allowing wrong to be seen as less wrong, excusable, right, or an obligatory commandment of the Lord God Almighty.
Evil is bad sold as good, wrong sold as right, injustice sold as justice. Like the coat of a virus, a thin veil of right can disguise enormous wrong and confer an ability to infect others."

Hi all,
I installed the mod Big map 0.99 and Extension patch in mean folder Medieval Total War II, but while I launche de "Launch_BigMap" and after started the game, an error happened:

My Game is from Steam. There were other writing errors in "export_descr_character_traits", but I already fix. Also I already upgrade my driver video card (RADEON HD6570) but erro continue. (Sorry my english).
Can anyone help me?
is there any mod with this one which add more lots of settlement?
Do you install BigMap99setup.exe then BigMapLateEraFullSetup.exe?
Well, it's been a while, but I've had the same problem and managed to find a solution:
Replace the BigMapLateEra/data/sounds folder for the Medieval II Total War/data/sounds folder.
Some additional info if you're curious:
The log wasn't really helpful, so I change the log level from " * error" to " * trace" in the BigMapLateEra.cfg file, which generated a very verbose log.
In the last several lines, it complained about missing sounds (something about animal voices).
In my first attempt, I just deleted the BigMapLateEra/data/sounds folder, and then I could start a new campaign without errors, but also without any sounds.
After copying over the files from the main directory, it seems to be working ok.
Please keep in mind that I haven't played extensively yet, so I don't know if I'll find some weird error or crash later in the game.
The map is YUGE!
I can't get mine to start at all. It would start then ctd. Why is that? Did I install it wrong?
I can't say for sure, but you probably didn't install it wrong.
There are some issues with the package; even though I followed the install instructions, the game would still CTD on launch.
To get it running, you need to make two changes:
First, it's necessary to correct a few typos in the export_descr_character_traits.txt file. It's easy.
Paste the code below into your BigMapLateEra.cfg file:
Then, run the game. After it crashes, you'll find a /logs folder in the install directory.Code:[log] to = logs/system.log.txt level = * error
Open it and read the system.log.txt file. It will show which lines in the export_descr_character_traits.txt file file are mismatched, so you can correct them.
After that, delete the BigMapLateEra/data/sounds folder;
Copy the Medieval II Totalwar/data/sounds folder into BigMapLateEra/data (so now you will have a BigMapLateEra/data/sounds folder again).
That's what I did to get past the insta-CTD.
Been playing for about 20 turns, it's working great so far, but the AI is somewhat slower when taking their turns.
Let me know if you can get it to work!
I will let you know how it works. What would i have to change in export_descr_character?
