Mods as tick box options in the options menu
just a random thought -
i think CA are totally missing a trick by not including all popular mods as tick box options in the options menu.
Trails for arrows? Tick box if you want.
40 unit armies? Tick box
Ultra-aggressive CAI? Tick box
no razing? tick box
one turn recruitment / building / research? tick box
I think you get my drift. I seem to remember Darth Mod did something like this for Shogun 2 and it was an absolute luxury. CA could erase so much day 1 complaining by just adding these simple variable changes as in-built options.
I've never spoken to any two people who play a Total War campaign exactly the same way and CA needs to address the diversity of their audience's playing styles.
I also propose that all Total Wars in future have more than one starting date to improve longevity and replayability.

If you're dealing with the devil, it's not the devil who changes, but rather the devil change you - for sanity is like a spider, sitting in a net woven from the finest of strings, unaware of the hand coming closer, being grabbed and stuffed into a mouth.
