Great work Petellius, I have had my hands full with static imagery such as cards and UI, and db editing. I have yet to really dive into the battle mechanics and sit down and test. looking forward to that day, whenever it may come...
just so you guys know, doing some more messing with scripts, might have found somethings that relate to how the BAI manages where it sends its reserves

I have a friend that does his fair share of scripting, more web and app based, but if it might help then why not ask him?

If you make the battles longer, you lower the battle difficulty at the same time.
To an extent yes.

Big, big compliment for what you have established soo far, I respect that!! Keep finetuning the variables and this will be a higher level of BAI.
Kind regards and succes!!

In Test two, you see that the "engage, do not engage" script is working, this is good, but needs a minor tweak(a foot..) to the ratio, cirkel, vectors to keep engaging, because the script to defend the deeper line has been RE-activated and became dominant to the attack with the other first line troops.
I must come back on the previous comment. My mistake. It's is not the engageroutine. This has to do with the planned attack from aside, the faced on troops retrieve to the first ordered position to keep out of way.
Not slow reacting, calculating the chances and not rushing into a big chaotic mess... This is a comment to the post that said the AI reacts slowly.
Wow ! The AI seems to have least suicidal tendancies, in the second video he even looks like he want to win the battle! I discover your project just recently but so far it look really promissing !
Here is my latest preview, a cinematic showcase of the battles in general.
And yes, I know there is a cursor on the video, it'll be fixed by the next video as I didnt realise my new software doesn't hide it like dxtory and Fraps usually does.

As always... Great stuff!
Is this using some of the stuff from the Divide Et Impera preview from a few weeks ago? I liked the look of it and some animations looked vaguely familiar.
Well me and Ritter (the guy who does the DeI animations) share Ideas a lot and he actually taught me how to do the animations, that said they aren't actually taken from DeI, I just did some of the same things.
