Default [Mod Idea] Kingdoms of Africa

Inspired by the Age of Empires 2 expansion coming out this fall, I was researching some African empires of the middle ages. I found it quite interesting, and I seriously think a mod for Medieval II adding some of central/west Africa and the empires there would be epic!

For instance the Benin Empire, the Mali Empire, the Ethiopian Empire, etc.

There could be some epic units, for instance I was reading about a unit called the "Queens Own" for the Benin Empire, which were strong units hand picked by the queen and at her disposal, and Kele Kloun of the Mali Empire, which were like the African equivlent of European Knights, and other cool units and stuff like that. There were also lots of interesting tactics and things of that nature.

Plus it could be a fun way for people to learn more medieval African history and such.

Although I am not a great modder (I have only made a quest and voiced companion in Fallout: New Vegas). I just think it would be very fun to play

I don't know enough about the region's history, but it would definitely be unique and interesting to represent it with a mod.

A very long time ago Caledonian Rhyfelwyr created a Mali faction. According to the last post in that thread, it may still exist in the Regions & Provinces Mod.
