Thread: New Faction can't attack cities when they settle down.

Default New Faction can't attack cities when they settle down.

Hey everyone. So I am really close to releasing my mod and I ran into an interesting problem. As soon as my new faction takes over a city and stops being a horde I no longer have the ability to attack any city (the cursor doesn't change to a sword). I can still attack armies just not the cities themselves. Does anyone know which DB table or anything that would cause this to happen?

    Thanks, in advance, everyone!!

Hey man, I encountered this problem recently as well and I figured out how to solve it. Now I'm not sure how much stuff you're reusing from vanilla Attila factions here, but what you need to do is add entries to the "campaign_group_members" table, one of the "campaign_group_member_criteria_****" tables and possibly "diplomatic_action_subculture_restrictions" There's a bunch of tables with the middle one's label and they each are used differently. I had a new subculture to go along with my new faction and using the subculture related ones worked the best for me.

    1. Anyways, first go into the campaign_group_members table, add one new row, copy the "att_occupation_decisions_***" entry from the second column that relates the most to your new faction's culture. I used "att_occupation_decisions_barbarian" for example. Then add that same entry to the first column, but change the "barbarian" ending to what name you have for your faction. Apply and close

    2. Next, open up "campaign_group_member_criteria_subculture" make a new row, put your custom subculture it's matching slot and your new occupation_decisions thing in the other. It's a big list of stuff but trust me, it'll be there. Apply and close.

    3. Finally open up "diplomatic_action_subculture_restrictions" make a new row, take the custom subculture and adjust the values there as you see fit. It's pretty clear what you're looking at.

    4. Export these new tables out and I would strongly suggest running the startpos afterwards just to be sure these changes work.

I hope that helps, like I said I'm not sure to what extent you took vanilla stuff from but I'm assuming that since you got this far you can adapt accordingly, if not let me know.

    Hello warman222

i ran into the same problem, while making a mod, to let the Huns and Nomads settle down.

After settling down, i cannot attack anymore cities.

As i am only using the vanilla tables for that, and the nomadic (sub)culture groups are integrated as default, i don't know what causes this.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    occupation_decision_vassal 0 0 att_occupation_decisions_nomadic 0
    occupation_decision_sack 0 0 att_occupation_decisions_nomadic 0
    occupation_decision_raze_without_occupy 0 0 att_occupation_decisions_nomadic 0
    occupation_decision_gift_to_another_faction 0 0 att_occupation_decisions_nomadic 0
    occupation_decision_liberate 0 0 att_occupation_decisions_nomadic 0
    occupation_decision_colonise 0 0 att_occupation_decisions_nomadic 0
    occupation_decision_loot 0 0 att_occupation_decisions_nomadic 0
    occupation_decision_occupy 0 0 att_occupation_decisions_nomadic 0
    occupation_decision_resettle 0 0 att_occupation_decisions_nomadic 0
    occupation_decision_raze 0 0 att_occupation_decisions_nomadic 0

Pls help me out - i've made so many approaches, there must be really something i am missing!
