Well it's a bit embarrassing. MEK has been somewhat rehabilitated in the West, once it was removed from the terror list, but the group remains too controversial. The FBI is investigating a vehicle explosion Wednesday at the border crossing between Canada and the United States on the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls, New York.
All western New York bridge crossings into the U.S. were shut down as well, the Erie County executive said. The vehicle was headed into the U.S. from Canada, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office said.

Sources say two people were killed in a vehicle explosion Wednesday afternoon at Rainbow Bridge, a U.S.-Canada border crossing near Niagara Falls, in western New York. Four U.S.-Canada border crossings in the region have been closed as investigators respond to the situation, CBS Buffalo affiliate WIVB reported.

Multiple law enforcement sources confirmed to CBS News two people died inside the vehicle that exploded, and sources said that it appears at this point to have been a deliberate act.

National security sources tell CTV News that Canadian government officials are operating under the assumption that the vehicle explosion at the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls is terror-related, and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says "additional measures are being contemplated and activated" at all border crossings across the country.

A meeting of all security related organizations and departments was taking place on Wednesday afternoon, including the Canada Border Services Agency, the RCMP, and Trudeau's National Security and Intelligence Advisor. Authorities are also in contact with U.S. officials.

Niagara Falls police identify couple killed in Rainbow Bridge crash

The couple tragically killed in the crash at the Rainbow Bridge crossing have now been identified.
Kurt Villani, 53, and his wife Monica Villani, 53, were residents of Grand Island, New York, Niagara Falls police announced on Friday.

The couple had been planning to attend a KISS concert in Toronto on Wednesday, but the gig was cancelled when frontman Paul Stanley fell ill with flu.
The Villanis instead headed to a casino near the border, CNN reported.
The crash took place when the pair left the casino.
The Bentley they were driving in rammed into the border crossing along Niagara Falls, which connects the US and Canada.

Personally, I think this process has been too much a travesty and often at the direct expense of Sweden, and her security. If that were not bad enough, a horde of Islamists (both domestic and abroad) tried - with President Erdogan on top - to further reduce or dismantle Swedish “freedom of speech” by insisting on reintroducing the old discarded blasphemy laws (abandoned in 1970). Especially so, for the sake of Islam and its supposed sanctity... Naturally, what else would it be these days... Well, the good part is that they failed (again), and that is probably the only true silver lining in this whole mess of a process…

All the same, Erdogan did with his actions really manage to piss off many Swedes in this process. It strikes me as unlikely that Swedes will soon forget how the Turkish regime treated Swedish state in all this. Or make Swedes any friendlier towards the freaking 100.000+ Turks that are currently present in Sweden, for reasons unknown. I mean, does Turkey have a diaspora of 100.000+ Swedes? That “happens” to constantly whine and insist upon their explicitly alien traditions, culture and beliefs to be considered and/or pampered to all the time? Supposedly, because it is a vital part in order for them to preserve their Swedish identity, in Turkey?!? Ummm, anything even remotely close to that? …No? What a shocker!

Again, let's remember that Sweden is located in Scandinavia - so that would be the northern parts of Europe, on the far side of a different continent - some 6 countries away (including a sea) from Turkey, even if we did travel the closest way possible, like a bird. And, I get the impression that far too many of these Turk nationals seemingly suck at assimilating to or respecting Swedish culture in general - begging the question why they even stay in Sweden in the first place...?... My favorite such example is the Turkish national, immigrant and openly Islamist politician Mikael Yuksel. But I digress…

Supposedly there are some Turks nationals that are angry at Sweden as well for it’s utterly moronic and state funded foreign-activism conducted ever since 1970. I can understand that… We can all thank the “saint” Olof Palme (murdered in 1986) and the Swedish socialists for that complete disaster. Hopefully, the Swedish NATO-membership will terminate that rather sh!tty activist tradition and put it into a well deserved grave – and not a moment too soon. Hopefully it will mark the return to an actual Swedish foreign policy for the decades to come - where Sweden's explicit interests and problems dominate and dictates that policy firmly. That way the Swedish government (with its rather small international power) can finally abandon the problems of the world and leave each damned region to solve things on their own. Starting with the Middle East!
