@Wallachian the furry hats that they have are not used by the Bulgarians during that period. The Bulgarians have a traditional hat called calpak and it looks completely different, but it obviously appeared at a later point. If you look at the sources that I've posted before you will see that the Bulgarian peasants don't wear furry hats or fur at all. Again I haven't seen any sources that indicate that fur was used by the Bulgarians, during that time and even if it was used, it was probably used by the herders.

Honestly, I don't believe that bulgarians didn't use fur in the middle ages. What did they wear during winter? How did they warm up?

@Wallachian What I remember from school, our relationship with the Tartars - or the Mongols dated from the 14th century to the beginning of the 15th century. Previously we have allies the Cumans. That is why I thought the Tatars would be represented in T3. But of course I may be wrong.

Shouldn't there be Mongols in tier 2 then as well, seeing how tier 2 = 14 century

Thanks Lion800 good thinking to continue the conversation there. And don't get me wrong, I like that you are supporting your argument and have a keen interest in all medieval Eastern Europe. But I am just not 100% convinced that we can only rely on period paintings and drawings.
