A visit to Old Oak

Lady Sabitha Redwyne and her sister Aramei arrive at Old Oak on Lady Redwyne's flagship, the Monoceros, with a small escort of guardsmen and courtiers. The Lady of the Arbor sends two of her guardsmen to request a meeting with the reigning Oakheart about a possible marriage between Redwyne and Oakheart.

Lord Willow Oakheart grants an audience, and greets the Lady Redwyne in his hall. "My Lady, what brings you to Old Oak?" he asks in a polite tone.

Sabitha and her sister bow to Lord Oakheart. "To present an offer of marriage between Oakheart and Redwyne, my lord. I have neglected seeking a husband for myself since inheriting the Arbor after my father's death and then the Dance." She then smiles. "Something I hope you could help me rectify if you have a second or third son or relative who is unmarried. I can offer a dowry of twenty five thousand dragons for the marriage...and a trade agreement between the Arbor and Old Oak, giving your merchants access to a market visited by merchants from numerous foreign lands, from Ibben to the Summer Islands, and Braavos to Qarth."

Sabitha looks at Lord Oakheart slightly confused. "My lord, perhaps I could marry your second son as the marriage would be matrilineal, so I may have an heir for the Arbor without taking away your heir. Unless you would prefer to marry your son to one of my sisters..."She then smiles. "...but yes, the marriage shall be magnificent with attendees from all over the known world.." Some may consider that a bluff, but with Lady Redwyne it was the truth. Some foreign merchants and dignitaries likely seeking to curry favor with her would surely attend.

"Ah my lady, please excuse me! I was not are you had a matrilineal marriage in mind," Willow apologised, "my second son, Teak, may be more suitable for you? Not to cause offence for not giving up my heir, but as I'm sure you understand our name must go on."
