    *The mod has been updated to work with the Slavic natons update.*
    *Starting locations are given in the image included in he images.*


    I present you the "Kingdoms of unknown age", a mod that makes the games grand campaign to have different regions for factions and lots of chages to the original campaign.


    Here are the features:


    - Kingdoms of unknown age changes the grand campaign to have 27 factions at the beginning of the campaign, the complete campaign map settlements have been given to 27 factions.


    - All factions are playable with the condition, that one has the cultures pack dlc:s for corresponding factions, please read further.


    - Without any of the cultures pack dlc:s there are the vanilla factions playable, so the mod works still, if you haven't got the cultures packs. The cultures packs only bring additional factions to play with this mod, like in the vanilla campaign.


    - The starting gold has been set to 20000, for building settlements and recruiting, there are no troops or settlement buildings in general set at the start, except main buildings and ports, so one can choose what one wants to build at start.


    - The names of the starting factions have been changed to imaginary ones.


    - The starting location of each faction are shown in the campaign map included in the images, the campaign start images ingame are the vanilla ones. I haven't yet gotten into changing those.


    - There are no Huns faction in this campaign, so every faction has their own settlements at start, there are no factions invading like the Huns in vanilla.




    Have fun, and if any issues come, that should be fixed, please give feedback and I'll try to fix those. Suggestions are welcome, and may be included in later versions.

    Other: I'm planning a new mod, Kingdoms of Unknown Age - Beleriand edition, it will be distantly resembling the Tolkien's Silmarillion area called Beleriand.

    I like it to have a fantasy mod. TW is fantasy to a great part anyway.

    A few questions:
    1. What about the climate change? Is it in and annoying like in vanilla?
    2. Can the AI deal with the start with totally undeveloped regions?
    3. What about omnipresent razing, another annoying feature of vanilla?
    4. Can I use battle mods with your mod? What do you suggest?
    5. Can I use a campaign mod like Better Aggressive CAI?

    To answer your questions:

    1. What about the climate change? Is it in and annoying like in vanilla?

    There is no change to climate in this mod.

    2. Can the AI deal with the start with totally undeveloped regions?

    From what I've tested the ai builds buildings on its own. Since after capturing ai settlement, there were buildings built.

    3. What about omnipresent razing, another annoying feature of vanilla?

    There are no changes to razing in this mod, so it takes place still like in vanilla.

    4. Can I use battle mods with your mod? What do you suggest?

    This mod changes the start pos files. I don't know, if battle mods conflict with start pos mod. I think they might not conflict.

    5. Can I use a campaign mod like Better Aggressive CAI?

    Might be possible, if the mod doesn't effect into start pos files. I'm not really an expert in modding, to say about other mods and if they do work with this mod.

    The mod has been updated to work with the patch, which came lately with the Empires of sand cultures pack. The mod's campaign includes now one new faction: Bharad (Lakhmids). However it doesn't use the DLC pack Empires of sand factions.

    I think it's a bit late for that, due to the patch release of the Attila game in few days. Also I'm concentrating on making a mod, that is a bit different from this one, which I will put my time of modding into after the patch. It will be slightly connected to Tolkien's Beleriand, but still quite a far approach due to my modding skills and time etc. I have at this point. Here is a link to the thread about the wip mod http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...eriand-edition , which is just at its beginning phase, but I hope to get it going forward, only it takes time to change the out look of units and such. I think it's no use to put this soon outdated version on any filesharing, but the next mod I'll make should be at Moddb once it's finished.

    The mod is updated to the latest patch which came with Age of Charlemagne. I've added a new faction Rhunic (White Huns) to the campaign, which starts in the east, also increased the starting gold to 60000.

    I put the mod later maybe on Moddb too.

    Mod has been updated to work with Slavic nations patch.

    Also added all the dlc factions to campaign, which can be played with the corresponding dlc. See starting locations from the image included.
