    Hi-dee-ho folks. The last week or two you may have seen me spamming various threads with screenshots of the new general skins we will be adding for the germanic factions along with Ahiga's magnificent roster overhaul. Well, I've finished up all the generals and will need feedback and help with testing to make sure it's all fit for fight. This is where you beautiful people come in. Further down in this post you will find a download link that includes the general skins HOWEVER you will need to use Ahiga's test pack for the new germans for it to work whatsoever. So if you haven't already downloaded it, do that first.

    A little break-down of what I've done: Those of you who have played the campaign a few hours or more have probably noticed that all the playable germanic factions have their own "unique" faction leader outfit. I've gotten rid of that for all the ones who had it. Now instead, there is a deck of 20 different general models that are randomly chosen for each new male character. So for example, now all Alamanic Kings won't have a jewelled crown. Instead, your faction leaders appearance will be based of of which of the 20 general skins he has. This way, you get more diversity in what your own generals look like, and an overall more immersive feel to the whole campaign.

    There aren't any known issues to my knowledge yet besides the fact that if you use 2d porthole quality, your portraits for your generals will look completely wrong, as they will show the vanilla look. The same goes for when you have 3d quality, but then it will only show up in the family tree and other UI menus where the same portrait is used. This is all because CA has used static images for portraits in Attila, unlike Rome 2. So they don't change along with the variant of the general. This means at some point I will have to go in and create my own images of all the general skins, which is quite the task and I won't have time to do that for this release.

    If you're using CA's mod manager, just tick it and run. If you have another mod manager, make sure you run it before the FotE main pack and any of Ahiga's test packs and you're good.

    Hello FOTE team! I have found a little bug. The saxon king Gewis is standing, holding a "wooden stake" (probably the vanilla two handed axe) and there's a sword blade sticking out of his leg.
    Here's the image

    I am runnig a faction's names and emblems mod, but I suppose this in't the problem

    Hey Maximus - have a couple of generals every once in awhile using Roman skins and with "Jesus syndrome" (stretched out arms and weapons at the feet). The starting general in the Alamans faction has the Roman skin and multiple instances of Ybor (which I find quite hilarious XD)

    Hey guys, I'm fairly new to this mod's forums and I just wanted to know if there was ever a concrete overview of what will be in version 2.0 for the German factions and otherwise. I see new (and varied) generals as well a several screen shots for new German textures. The

    Again, sorry if these have been answered clearly elsewhere, but:
    1) I presume ALL (east & west & DLC) Germanic factions will be getting their unit rosters completely reskinned/overhauled? You see, I'm thinking of doing an Alaman campaign, but the look of their vanilla units is too underwhelming for me
    2) I see making brand new units isn't really on your minds at all, but compared to the the Roman rosters, the German rosters are pretty bare-boned. Any brand new unit in their release, or totally reskins for our smelly German friends?
    3) Is 2.0 much larger than this 1.5 release? When looking at the Alaman roster, for example, it didn't seem like every unit was re-skinned/re textured.

    Besides overhauling the Germans, are there any other features we can expect from 2.0?

    For #1 and #2: All the 'continental' Germans (excluding Saxons and Nordics) will be getting new rosters/units and every one of the units will be a reskin from vanilla. Bearing in mind as the rosters are at least maybe 50-75% more authentic you may see units you really liked disappearing - falxmen, the wardogs for the Sarmatians, ect. But you also get new units - scavenger mob and alamanni scavengers are recast as "Peltast style" light infantry, the Langobardi lose their horse stabbers (go to the suebi/alamanni) and their godansmenn are now unarmored berserkers but now the Langobardi get three lancer units, the Ostrogoths may lose their pikemen but get four lancers (2 are cataphracts), ect.


    Other 2.0 features are Gunny is working on combat overhauls that will greatly improve the battlefield mechanics, Maximus' generals, Char's unit cards for the Romans and Germans, Hadrien's work on the Nordics.

    1.5 was a placeholder where Maximus was able to assign my Germanic textures (largely the East german stuff) to various vanilla german units. Some didn't get a reskin because there wasn't a suitable replacement in the 2.0 release to borrow the VMD from.

    Hello guys! I found some more bugs:

    That's how the starting burgundian generals appear in the campaing map. In the battle map they apeear with generic germanic skins and they don't have pictures in the family tree screen.

    Most Germanic factions suffer from the following bug: a lot of starting generals don't have ingame models and are represented with roman icons.

    The Alamans with three bugged characters named Ybor. None of the faction rulers from the Longbeards DLC start with the apropriate skin, most of them have generic germanic skins.

    I think that's all, I'll let you know with there's more. Now, may I suggest something? Could you make the Belisarius DLC factions use the same roster from the Grand Campaign or is it too much trouble? Maximus told, in another thread, that he used some CROC assets in his personal Sassanids for Attila, could you release this little modification along with the germans in 2.0? Also, do you guys have an estimate for the release of 2.0? Sorry for my poor english and if I sounded demanding or incovenient, and thank you very much for this awesome mod!

    is this updated cause there are some major bugs. Its a great mod and I cant wait for it to be truly ready
