What are the rules regarding screenshots from video games being used? I've got a few examples of various levels of work having been put into them.
Would the following picture be allowed into the competition? It has quite a heavy level of Photoshop.

If the above screenshot was allowed, what about this one? It was merely a bit of Soften and Glow with paint.net, and a tiny bit of editing to add a Santa hat.

If the above screenshot was also allowed, what about this one? It was done with a GemFX preset which was toggled on at the click of a button. No real effort from me other than taking the screenshot at the right time. I don't have the Before version.

I'm guessing only a screenshot with really heavy levels of Photoshop would be allowed, otherwise it'd be a bit too easy and the wrong audience.

I agree. Edited screenshot is really ok as long as there is a good effort thrown in, unedited one (or just adding a pair of filters...) is kinda cheating as it uses game engine and not your own skill.

Usually, we don't take screenshots, at least the non-edited one, to not "compete" with your department
If we take a screenshot as a submission, it will have to be fully in accordance to the competition theme.

This being said, considering the theme of the GWC #229 that is pretty large actually, I think that we can accept (with your permission of course) edited game screenshots on an exceptional basis. After all, that's a kind of graphic art, isn't it?

Yes, I thought about it. Unfortunately, we were all quite busy on different things and we haven't found the time to make one. That's also why I quickly made the sigbar to promote it
Anyway, if you manage to post yours, we will get 6 submissions which is quite good if we consider that we were down to 2 or 3 by the past (mine included). So we just need to find the right theme I guess. So, any proposal for the next one???

A few suggestions for the theme of the next competition:

If we want to stick to this period of the year:
- Spring
- Easter

If we want to stick with the game news:
- Throne of Brittania
- Three Kingdoms
This could be extended to any TWC mod having done a release recently or about to do it

Any more ideas?

Its kinda strange, I was looking for my stellar contribution to show to Brig but couldn't find it (I had a copy saved on my hard drive luckily).
