Default Siege of Rome in The Last Roman causes crash?

Has anyone else had, at a critical moment in the Belisarius campaign - the siege to retake the (severely diminished) eternal city - a game freeze while loading the battle? I was a little put out to find the game stops responding at 90% of the battle loaded. If this is widespread it would seem a fairly central moment to up.

Has anyone else had this and are there any solutions anyone knows of, short of waiting for the next patch? I've reloaded twice with the same result.

I've actually had this since the games release. I cant play any really large settlement sieges at all because of it. I'm currently on an AMD FX8350, getting a 4790k next week. Just going to wait and see if its a CPU problem.

You should report it on the official forums since I've heard of this before from others.
