Hey all, I've been a huge fan of DEI for Rome 2 (It's the only way to play the game imo) and been desperately searching for the closest equivalent. I found FoTE to closest in terms of realism and authenticity so I made some screenshots of some battles I had with them. All have been tweaked in photoshop to make them appear more vivid and for adding little things like blur, dust, noise etc.

Just because I can't find a video thread and didn't want to create a thread dedicated to mine I figured this would be the next best bet of where to post this.

I just had one of the most enjoyable single player battles in Total War (playing since Shogun 1). It was exactly like Adrianople, only with Saxons against WRE. It happened at the beginning of the campaign.
My smaller force was holding a camp while the larger was reinforcing. I had mostly light spearmen, with some Nordic band, bow and slinger units. WRE had 2 similar armies, with 5 of Cgma's heavy unique named units, and more heavy, medium and ranged units.
I was holding well against the first Roman force, even eliminating some units on the side entrances by encircling them. Then their main force hit and broke through my spearwall at the closest gates. Additional depleted units and a general were rushed to stem the tide while my second army was completing the encirclement. The result was a slaughter, just like in Adrianople.
I love the fact that now Rome gets heavy infantry units at the beginning of the game. Saxons start the game with 160 strong units (newly recruited ones have 240) and they have three almost same spear units at the beginning, that will hopefully be corrected.
