    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
    About This Content

    - Huge new Campaign Map
    - New ‘Expedition’ faction with new gameplay features
    - 5 Playable Factions with additional new Units, Tech and Buildings
    - A dramatic story-based, campaign challenge

The year is AD533. Within the last century, the Western Roman Empire has been wiped from the face of the earth.
However, the final bastion of Rome’s glory lives on in the Roman Empire of the East; this still formidable power dreams fitfully of regaining its lost grandeur.
Emperor Justinian knows there is but one desperate gamble left - an ambitious and dangerous venture to recover what is rightfully his, to reconquer the West before all that Rome once stood for is lost to history. The task is Herculean, with barbarian kingdoms now established and thriving throughout the Mediterranean; there is only one possible man to lead such an expedition.
His father’s former bodyguard, hero of the Battle of Dara, and the ruthless suppressor of the Nika riots.
Belisarius is the final hope of a dying Empire, the Last of the True Romans.

A Unique Campaign with New Gameplay Mechanics

The Last Roman Campaign Pack is an epic expansion for Total War: ATTILA, delivering a narrative, mission-based experience on a new, highly-detailed campaign map of the Mediterranean theatre.
Charging the veteran Total War player with the role of Belisarius and his Roman Expedition, you must reclaim Rome’s lost territories from the savage, hostile forces.
The struggle to fulfil your duty as servant of the Emperor Justinian is brought to life by a series of new story events and missions. The Emperor, the Empress and your own wife, Antonina, vie for your attention, demanding arduous and often contradictory services. Completing these tasks will provide you with the men and supplies you need, but offending the wrong person will greatly weaken the fragile Expedition.
Alternatively, you might declare independence and attempt to re-establish the Western Roman Empire under your own banner, seeking glory and immortality away from the court at Constantinople.
Will you stay loyal to Justinian’s vision of reclaiming Rome from the barbarians? Or will you follow your own path, establishing yourself as a new Emperor in the West?

    New Campaign Map

The Last Roman’s Campaign map is a vast and highly-detailed representation of central Western Europe in 533 AD, featuring 35 provinces across over 100 regions, including Italy, North Africa, Spain and France.

    Playable Factions

The Last Roman offers five playable factions – the brand new Roman Expedition but also the Ostrogoths, Vandals, Franks and the Visigoths – each one featuring its own faction traits and new campaign starting-position.
The Vandalic Kingdom is threatened by rebellious Sardinia and the looming Roman danger, while the Ostrogothic Kingdom is hamstrung by its pro-Roman queen and the demands of an unworkable alliance. Both seek to solidify their borders and make the most of Italy’s rich and fertile lands; but Belisarius’ reputation precedes him, and they know a cornered animal will fight to the last.
For the Franks and the Visigoths, the return of the Romans presents an opportunity. Both are growing kingdoms, fuelled by youthful vigour and a thirst for conquest. Now, the time is right for them to expand; with the other great powers locked in conflict for control of distant Africa, Europe lies waiting - waiting for a new, greater empire to rise from Rome’s ashes!

    New Units

Alongside revisited unit rosters, the primary factions in The Last Roman also feature the following new units.

    The Roman Expedition

    - Bucellarii (Guard Cavalry)
    - Foederati (Sword Infantry)
    - Skutatoi (Sword Infantry)
    - Antesignani (Sword Infantry)
    - Limitanei (Spear Infantry)
    - Skutatoi Spears (Spear Infantry)
    - Skutatoi Axemen (Axe Infantry)
    - Bucellarii Guard Axemen (Axe Infantry)
    - Cataphracti (Shock Cavalry)
    - Clibanarii (Shock Cavalry)
    - Bucellarii (Shock Cavalry)
    - Foederati Cavalry (Melee Cavalry)
    - Foederati Horse Archers (Missile Cavalry)
    - Hippo Toxotai (Missile Cavalry)

    Vandals

    - Vandal Horsemen (Melee Cavalry)
    - Noble Vandal Cavalry (Melee Cavalry)
    - Vandali Comitatus (Shock Cavalry)
    - Moorish Levy (Spear Infantry)
    - Noble Vandal Swordsmen (Melee Infantry)

    Ostrogoths

    - Sagittarii (Missile Infantry)
    - Elite Sagittarii (Missile Infantry)
    - Ballistarii (Missile Infantry)
    - Iuvenes (Melee infantry)
    - Milites (Sword Infantry)
    - Spear Milites (Spear Infantry)
    - Milites Comitatenses (Sword Infantry)
    - Spear Milities Comitatenses (Spear Infantry)
    - Veterans (Sword Infantry)
    - Spear Veterans (Spear Infantry)
    - Domestici (Elite Infantry)
    - Scholae (Elite Cavalry)
    - Comes (Generals Unit)
    - Javelinmen (Basic Skirmishers)
    - Noble Javelinmen (Elite Skirmishers)

    New Technologies and Buildings

The Last Roman Campaign Pack features many new technologies and buildings.
The Roman Expedition displays a heavily modified Roman technology tree containing 20 new technologies and an entirely new Expedition-specific building tree.
If independence is declared, the Expedition’s building options revert to traditional Roman styles, better suited to the ambitions of an upstart, usurping Emperor.
The other playable factions also feature new combinations of Western Roman and Barbarian technologies and buildings.

Expected but we are glad to see it.
So you are a roman expedition that can rebel against costantinople, the only negative part is that we don't have costantinople in the map, seems.
I don't see the Longbeards, I know that is too soon, but I like the idea you can solve also this problem in you reconquista, befor it arrive.

This looks extremely promising, definitely going to get it. The Hellenized Romans (though it's honestly about 60-70 years too early, Justinian was a native Latin speaker from the northern Balkans) and the Romanized Ostrogothic army (not sure if that's accurate at all) are big question marks for me but I understand what CA is trying to do here. I'm hoping that the free LC will involve playable Slavic factions (and a fix for the Alans)

Unfortunately it also looks like this might be the last hurrah for ATW so enjoy the moment while you can. They've already said that next month they will be talking about Warhammer.

I suspect the release of a patch, a campaign pack and a free-LC will be to keep everyone content long enough before the next DLC is released. Hopefully some good mods (and current mods updated) will be out to bolster to keep us all going.

I hope that the patch and free-LC will be worthwhile because with "The Last Roman Campaign Pack" we now have FOUR DLCs that have had a focus on Western Europe. Eastern Europe and the Middle East are still very empty so I hope that CA has a mind of enriching that part of the map with unique factions/cultures as well. Adding Judaism and Nestorianism to the game as religions would be really cool.

incredibly disappointed, been looking forward to this but the decision not to make it a grand campaign is a bad one.

the lack of other cultures from the african, eastern and other northern factions will make the novelty of this new dlc wear off fast, it will have zero longevity.

Why not just follow the Imperator Augustus model in Rome 2 and make it a grand campaign? At this rate, with no future DLC planned, I would much prefer a Rise of Islam DLC on the grand campaign map.

there will be future content for Attila - this is not The Last Attila DLC

I agree, all of these things are really needed to make the map seem more fluid and realistic. It's a shame it wasn't like this to begin with but... meh.

In the episode of Rally Point Jack said that they are releasing a Patch and FLC with this as well.

Not to mention the day it launches is the day that the first Shogun and Medieval Total Wars are being released on Steam!

Something else to keep in mind - Attila can get all the DLC and Free LC in the world but if nothing is done about CAI targeting the human player and the Sassanids uniting half of the campaign map against the human player then Attila will remain a failure of a game. These fixes should be top priority for CA at the moment.

It's been three months since the last DLC so I have really high hopes that there will be some substantial fixes.

Seriously? You guys get excited by this?

The announcement of the Roman pack impresses me little. If insta-ship armies are in, self collapsing walls and women as infantry, plus the `target the player` AI are in, then I`m out. And those things are 99% likely to be in.

Meh, just consider me out, CA won`t fix any of that and I won`t spend any more money on not getting result. Far better games with more substance on the horizon.

You can't beat classic games, especially those that get updated and compatible on modern technology.

SO will Shogun and Medieval be made compatible to run on modern systems? As of now I cannot run Medieval or Shogun on my Windows 8.1 64-bit machine or in a virtual pc. And I think a lot of other people can't either
