Thread: Difficulty setting

    Default Difficulty setting

Hey I can't remember if I saw this or not but is it still true that if you are playing on a normal difficulty setting it causes a bug that makes the game actually herder than the hard settings? what is the perfect difficulty to play this on would you say. love this mod with all my heart as I play it on the mac and if you saw my video on how to install the game, then you would understand that I can only play RSII and it impossible for me to play Vanilla.

The 'Very Hard' setting in RTW is the one that is bugged....as it gives both the AI AND the player some bonuses they shouldn't have.

My best recommendation (particularly for the Romans) is Hard Campaign and Medium Battles.

The first is subjective of the types of campaign I witnessed through multiple and, usefully, somewhat repetitive testing.

The second results in no bonuses and then is 'fair' (again a good comparator for testing). This then allows the 'newer' player to go down to 'Easy' if the battles are a bit tough and up to 'Hard' if more is wanted. 'Very Hard' battles are rather distorted.
