The point that I'm making is that you can't just claim something is inconsistent right as things are looking dire for you. If you thought this was a problem you would've brought it up before but you only choose to speak up when you're in a dire spot

The fire was a good illustration of that. Actions can't be self serving 100% of the time. That with the income issue, the troop hiring issue, the trait gaining issue, the miscalculation of militia points issue, all these convenient letters, choosing to act on these letters only when the threat is actually credible, I don't know. It all seems like trying too hard to me. Meanwhile I've been very happy to let my characters make bad decisions, lose, and even die. there comes a point where we have to let the dice to their jobs.

Because he's never mad when he's at risk to be weakened. He's only mad when he's dishing out punishments or triumphing over a defeated foe.

The issue was raised already in the past.
I'm currently just not in the position to do anything against the king for the moment, since both Houses are Targaryen-loyal and rather owe them more than trying to march against them.
