Just came across a piece of information you might find useful:

The Egyptian army elite core was a unit of professional phalanx soldiers called the Nakhtu-aa, equipped with stiffened cloth armour, a leather or bronze helmet, a shield, spear and khopesh, originating from the influence of the Hyksoi that conquered them years ago. The rest of the core was comprised of Egyptian levy men (1 in every 100 men initially, and by the time of the Sea Raiders, it rose to 1 in every 10 men) who would either fight as light melee infantry, or disciplined archer units, trained to fire entire volleys of arrows from their composite bows (rather than skirmish). Popular mercenaries were Nubian Skirmishers, who used the staff bow (highly regarded warriors in the Egyptian Kingdom). The Sherden swordsmen were super famous too (weren't they the first recorded swordsmen in history?) but I'm sure you guys know about them . Then there were the chariots, that likely weren't actually used for combat, but for rapid transport of champions, nobles, etc. I'm not sure if that helped or anything. You've probably already got this information, but I was reading a book and came across this info, thought the Nakhtu-aa name was awesome, so I had to share it

PS: The units look great, but I have one potential problem I'd like to share. The wolf warrior is usually only associated with Indo-European peoples (eg. in Classical literature all these are mentioned to some degree; Romans, Illyrians, Thracians, Celts, Germanics), so I don't think it's a good idea to give these Irish units the wolf pelts.

For historical authenticity should be choosed the correct anthropological types of units of different factions. For example units of Andronovo Culture (http://i.imgur.com/OfETmhe.jpg) choosed not correctly. They should be not brunettes, but blondes and browns, as the Scythians, Germans, Celts in Vanilla. By type of face they should be similar to Northern Europeans, such as the Germans and not the Front Asians such as Armenians.

    Andronovo Culture types:

Ive done some research and the main theory seems to be in Ireland there was a indo-european presence by the bronze age. I would say you could comfortably stick with PIE names for all your units, although what I think is easier is to just have english names, dont bother with the linguistics.

I've seen those before, just wanted to say that I love the color and authenticity. Please, keep it that way. There is too much 300-like units out there xD Definitely this will become one of the mods I will play. Keep up the good work on it!

did anyone play the aeimnestus ancient battle submod for divide et impera? i'd love to see similar battle mechanics in your mod. to me, it was the mod that finally made me enjoy rome 2 battles... better pace, more tactical gameplay, les phyrric, last-man-standing battles.

Re-done the Arab roster in reconstructed Akkadian so it is now accurate, also shortened it to make each unit more unique.

Re-balanced it as well. This roster should be more historically accurate and balanced to other factions. I've spent about a month researching this so I hope it satisfies everyone. My real problem with all this is that there is no settlement in Bahrain on the campaign map, Dilmun would have been an incredible addition for a major Arab faction.

All is not lost though, in the height of it's power Dilmun controlled main-land territory in the Gulf so they can be included as a replacement for Gerrhaea.

    Arabian Tribes Roster

    Slaves - Abdu

    Tribal Levy - Raksu Ellati

    Slingers - Uzzuqu

    Archers - Nas Qasti

    Urban Levy - Raksu Ali

    Spearmen - Muqtablu Azmaru

    Mixed Swordsmen - Martianni Namsaru

    Guards - Massartu

    Chariots - Attartu

    Nobles - Mutallu

Generals Bodyguard - Mar Qati Turtalu

    Dilmun Faction Units

    Club Levy - Gisshassu Raksu

    Dilmunite Marines - Mallahu Dilmunu

Pics as soon as they are done, will put them in this post!

Next I will start experimenting with naval rosters.

If some one could please send me an updated pack with all our current armor, clothing, helmets and such that would be great, I will be able to start on this once I have those resources.

    by Assyria

Cavalry in the Bronze Age was not. Only individual riders. Very rare.
Helmets with a crest along later tradition. VIII-VII century BC

    Kassites and Elam
Round shields are not characteristic of Mesopotamian Bronze Age. At that time, were rectangular

Please remember many of these helmets and shields are placeholder models until more appropriate models are finished by our talented modelers Squeehunter and Greenyrepublic. The crested helmets are outside my expertise, so any academic sources detailing their use and styles would be very much appreciated. As for cavalry, a great deal of forum space here has been used to discuss it, and you can easily find these debates in the main mod thread.

With regards to the round shields for Kassites and Elamites, It was a very conscious design decision, first of all we know that round shields were in use by other Mesopotamian powers(the Assyrians come to mind) and that they were a very common shield in the timeperiod, I dont have a great deal of time right now but hopefully later I will be able to find the links to the academic journals I used when building the rosters. Basically, the shields added variety to the rosters and fit in place with the information we have and the military technology of the timeperiod.
