    Default Unique cities

With Ted now available within the Assembly Kit I will focuse alot of attention into figuring out how to use it for the creation of new battle maps for cities. I hope that several others here will also put effort into building more unique and if possible historicaly accurate city and town maps. I hope that in the end we can come together for a collective effort to put all our individualy created cities together into one pack file. I hope that admin will grant me a hosted modification thread if such a collective effort could be got going. Until more people turn up, I will try to recreate ancient Augsburg (Augusta Vindelicorum) as historicaly accurate as possible.

Meanwhile, I`d like to share some city maps, links and artists illustrations from cities in the WRE with all of you in hope that I convince you to join in:

Annoyingly, from what I've seen briefly the tool allows no more creativity than we had in Empire when editing maps on a 16x16 block with colours... Hoping that come the end of the week I'll be proved wrong!

I'm also going to try something similar for a few cities. Just have to figure out how the map tools work...

Have you been able to actually save any of your battle maps? I can't save anything as a battle map without failing and I have no idea what I'm missing.

    I am totaly failing myself.

Trial and error. So far I tried to make a city but created houses surrounded by puddles and swamps.

Hoping for more minor settlements. Annoying that there is only like 3 different Roman minor settlements. Which gets super boring when rebels attack

its the same with all the other cultures to my knowledge, cannot wait for variety

For something like Londinium, it might be worth starting with CA's Londinium map and improving it, rather than making something entirely from scratch. As for my attempts so far, it looks like I need a better PC for this. I can barely run a siege map in TED, and bigger ones like Constantinople are just slideshows.

I like the idea..But 1st you need to explore the tool by making an other more important change!
Remove the walls with the logs (barbarian style) and the aufull Roman towers from all romen low tier settlements and give them real roman (Rome II) fortifications.
Unwalled settlements can have such walls as decorative (wall ring) and open/gateless gates...
West Roman towers will remain vanilla Rome II ones and ERE must replace their roofs with rambards (same as walls have).
Can you do this and remove the vanilla idiotic barbarian Roman fortifications?
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

I am at the verge of giving up. I went into this thinking that it would be an easy thing to learn how to work with Ted.....

After a week, all my maps still look like swamps rather than actual cities.

But I wont give up. I am taking a train to Salzburg (Iuvarum) this week, where I will visit the museum and ask for impressions over what the town may have looked like in 300 AD.

Pretty sure that's why CA doesn't even bother with actual mapping tools, tho. :X

That is why you should start with easy tasks.
Try to change only parts on existing settlements (replace decorative walls for example) to see what happens.
    Go one step each time.
When you will manage to transform an existing settlement you will be able to create one from scratch.

Right? You'd think they'd provide a tutorial at least.
