Default Empyrean Rule - Rise Of The Ancients

    Hi all,

having run a Warhammer Dark Omen site for many years now, we have all been waiting for a new game to emerge that captures some of the spirit and tactics of a truely great Real Time Tactical engine but set in an online persistent world. Whilst enjoying the Total War, Mark of Chaos/Battle March and Lord of the Rings series, they sadly weren't a sucessor to Dark Omen gameplay. However I have been eagerly following the amazing development of ->

Empyrean Rule - Rise Of The Ancients

Imagine "A sandbox game in an open fantasy persistent world with real time tactical battles, strategy, empire
management. Endless possibilities. " I personally think it would be like Dark Omen crossed with Eve Online and they've already got multiplayer demo movies, showcasing glorious battles.

The creators are true gamers who also enjoyed playing the same mentioned games, so they really know their tactical engines and gameplay. I really hope we can support them and meet on the battlefield soon!

Their Kickstarter Page is live and you can visit it here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...f-the-ancients

Their Greenlight Page is live and you can visit it here:

    Many thanks

Came here to make a thread, and noticed this one already existed.

    Well done OllyOrc!

Since Olly's post the game was Greenlit by STEAM, with a very positive result.

Unfortunately the Kickstarter could use some help, and I'm surprised this hasn't gotten FAR more attention from the Total War community!

There's a bit of Pre-Alpha gameplay on a recent video here:

Keep in mind, this is just a very early version of the battles. It's the persistent world and the empire layer that will its shining attribute in this genre

For a quick run-down of the game, think:
Fantasy setting (Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Dragons, etc etc)
    Total War type battles
    MMO scale & scope
    Persistent world
EVE style player driven environment and economy

The forums are here and FULL of information.

The devs also actively monitor the comments sections of both Kickstarter and the Greenlight page. So ask questions! They'll get answered!

Get behind this guys. It could be AMAZING!

It won't let me edit my post??
I thought it would be better to embed some of the videos.

Are Total War players really not interested in what is essentially a Multiplayer Total War Campaign in real time in a fantasy setting?
I thought people would be jumping at this?

Because most Total War players do not like multiplayer Total War.

    That still surprises me though.
The only reason I don't like it, is because it is turn-based.

I love the idea of playing in a 'living world', rather than just against a stagnant AI all the time.
