    What does this mod do?


    A: This mod removes the recycled voice-acting from Rome 2, as well as the cheesy diplomatic voiceovers and unit selection voiceovers (i.e. "ARCHERS!")


    Why?


    A: I found the voice-acting in Attila to be awful and immersion breaking at times so I made this for myself.

    Examples. Each time I click on my soldiers/generals/agents, I don't want to hear "General", or "Attack!" or "Our Horzes Love Blood"


    That was all very amusing WHEN IT WAS INCLUDED IN ROME II, but hearing the same overwrought Germanic accent in an ostensibly NEW game, gets old.


    This mod removes all that.



    How to use?


    This isn't a "normal" mod. As far as I am able, I cannot get a mod manager or steam mod manager friendly version working properly, so you will have to:

    1. Backup your local_en_shared_rome2.pack file. This is located in your Attila data folder.

    2. D/L and drop my .pack into your data folder (OVERWRITING/REPLACING YOUR ORIGINAL local_en_shared_rome2.pack) and off you go.

    Can you make a version that just removes the diplomacy voice acting?

    I think you don´t need a mod for this. You can disable voice acting in audio options.

    That doesnt remove the units shouting their unit type when seletcted. It's just a pain if you are micro-ing your units and selecting them a lot .

    I found the battle horns are an immersion killer too when you remove all the other voices , you just get horns all the time.

    Anyone have any idea where the horns are ? Looks like they might be a wem. file.

    Oh ya I forgot about the recycled Rome 2 horns. I can't stand them.

    How do I make it work though? I dropped the whole *.pack to my data folder ... didnt do anything.
    Help would be very appreciated.

    I always found it very difficult to play as either the Greeks or Romans in the last two games because the posh English accent just completely took me out of the game. One of the worst choices CA has ever made in terms of immersion. Thanks!

    I can't stand the barbarian voices. They're horrible. In fact, almost all the voice acting is annoying in Rome 2/Attila

    Anyone having issues with this mod? I really need my troops to shut their mouths! general, general, general...
    I'm using the external mod manager and it doesnt detect this mod in particular (nor does the steam mod manager). All other mods that I have downloaded from twcenter work fine so far.
    Ive tried renaming the file, re-downloaded it... nothing seems to work.
    I love the idea of this mod, help a brother out!

    Yeah it doesn't work at all for me either.

    @tullyccro how was this done? Downloading now and will try applying to Rome 2 (not Atilla), if doesn't work I may have a stab at getting this up on the workshop. Maybe. One day.

    It does not take into account the latest update. I would have to do a change diff between the modified files and and the original.
