Faction symbols not showing up on stratmap

Alright, I need to find a way to make the new symbols in "sharedpage_01" and "stratpage_02" work in the stratmap. I've replaced Numidia with Athens BUT I read that the game absolutely refuses to read the updated files with the already unpacked steam version of the game.
Is there a solution for this WITHOUT making a mod folder?

i believe the only 2 ways you can make the new symbols visible are:
1. repack everything as .pak files, or
2. mod-folder it..

That sounds like a good option. How can I repack my modded files so the game can read them?

i can't help you much as i prefer the modfolder method, but i think there's a readme tutorial included in the download. good luck!
