They should make a descent james bond game again.

It's an odd thing that only once a truly good james bond game was made, followed by many mediocre ones.

Such a shame since it does have potential.

First of all, they should not just release the game version of the latest movie or such, and instead just focus on all the movies and expand on that with other scenarios.

For the playable character, it could be cool if ALL the different versions of James Bond where playable, and all of them playing a bit differently, matching the portrayals of the actor and the weapons and gadgets they used.
And of course giving different dialogue either delivered by the actor or by someone who can do a good job copying their voice. Would make each playthrough different for certain and would allow your favorite Bond to appear in the movie events they where not originally in.

Alternatively, they could make the player another 00 agent. One you can customise, so they could be either gender and any race.
Their personality would be more up to the player, making it more your own story as a secret agent. You'd answer to M just the same, Q would make your gadgets, and you could fight against SPECTRE and other organisations just the same.
You could even work together with James Bond on some missions, and could be given similar gadgets.

Having a choice of missions worldwide, choosing gadgets before missions, going for more martial arts training instead of speech or charisma. A 00 game can easily work.

Perhaps the hardest part would be somehow encompassing all those chases with vehicles or even without.

Yeah quite some good ideas there. One of the best third person shooters i ever played was From Russia with Love, that one simply is epic. Best graphic around for Playstation 2 as well.

This or a decent sequel to Alpha Protocol would be great to fulfill some spy type game role.

Well the style of Alpha Protocol could be great for a james bond style game where you are another 00 agent. Just shouldnt be made by Obsidian though if we'd want the game to be finished and get proper support after release.

I would love an XCOM style MI6 simulator, where you manage your agency strategically and send out double-0 agents on tactical missions. The missions can be third person stealth shooter style or purely tactical strategy - I am happy either way.

Hmm... sounds a bit like MGSV lol.
