I was really unimpressed when watching footage from the beta, it didn't look worth of your time. But I gave it a shot during the beta, and it plays way more nicelly than it looks.

Like mechanics and gameplay wise it is functional, polished I would say even, but nothing out of the ordinary, and a bit spartan.

But I had most of the time a huge grin on my face playing the Hoth-map, I had fun, and I'm glad I tryed it out.

But 60/70€ for it? Or 120€ for the upcoming content you don't even know yet (oh EA...), I don't know... Gameplay wise it is fine I think on its own, not exactly Battlefront that you used to know tought. I'm more worried about rest of the content to justifye the price-tag.

The saddest thing, what really makes me wanna exterminate the human race, is how many people are gonna pre-order this game with the season pass. And that's not counting the blind Star Wars fanboys, that were gonna buy any with SW on it.

I already decided not to buy this game but I... can't... I... too much hype... it is sucking me in like the Death Star's tractor beam.

I will try to fight it but the Dark Side is becoming too strong and tempting to resist...

I'll resort to meditation to overcome this temptation.

As a massive Star Wars fanboy... I'm going to hold off buying this until I see if it's any good.
And that's a lot coming from me.

There's other games. I still haven't finished Witcher 3, I just started Fallout 4 and I'm considering getting the new Rainbow Six if I can muster enough mates to get a team going.
Oh and Just Cause 3 of course.

As a Death Star sized fan boy, and having played the beta, there aint no way in hell I'm paying $60 for some nostalgia.

You are right, I won't succumb to the temptation. I'll get the remastered versions of TIE fighter and X-Wing alliance on gog.com instead to appease my need for Star Wars. TIE fighter is one of my favourite games of all time.

Btw, are a single player version of SW Battlefront or a Skyrim-like LOTR RPG something destined to remain a wet nerd dream?

I preordered, didnt have to but I did so because you get the DLC map early... I was like whatthehell why not.

I was going to buy it regardless when it came out so why not just pre-order?

Well it looks like the first PC reviews are starting to appear:

I very nearly pre-ordered this today. However, I was reminded of two very good reasons why I should not pre-order this game:

So, I'll hang back until the end of the month and see what everybody else makes of it.

We were not talking about liking something or not but about pre-ordering a game you barely know anything about. Not to mention that Pre-order is the cancer that gives as RTW2, AC:Unity, Arkham Knight and Colonial Marines launches.

Wow the lack of content in battlefront is really disturbing. Back to Fallout 4 I guess.

Gamespot gave it 7 anyway, seems about right judging from beta experience.

That's the big thing this game suffers from: lack of content. Something EA will surely fix by forcing you to buy 200 dollars in DLC, just like we all predicted.

Not a Star Wars fan and so this looks like typical multiplayer shooter gameplay. IMO you'd have more fun with Tripwire's games, Killing Floor and Red Orchestra.

RO and Battlefront arent comparable games in any way beyond having guns.

It's ok-ish, typical DICE Shooter game, I do enjoy Hoth though, it's a childhood dream.I pre-ordered them game through Kinguin last April and only paid 34$ for it and am not getting the season pass as its not worth it to me.

Having played it a good bit, IMO it's fun but suffers from a serious lack of content. Only like 9 guns, the only vehicles are the 4 starfighters (two of which are power-ups), speeder bikes, AT-ST's, and the on-rails AT-AT. The only "diversity" are the like 2 hero ships and 6 heros otherwise.

It has 12 maps (soon 16) but again this whole game was made so they could mooch as much money in the game and its DLC from casual fans after the movie as possible. Typical EA, in other words.

Expect 100 dollars in DLC for all the stuff that should have been in the original game.

It seems the general consensus is that it's too bare bones, and it's neither like the battlefront or the battlefield games. To me they look even more shallow than CoD, hell CoD black ops 3 looks like it has 5x the content, full single player, full multiplayer and zombies mod.

Angry Joe went guns blazing, 5/10. I don't think I have ever seen him rate so low a working AAA tittle, and considering he came of pissed from the piece of that was Halo 5, it really says something if he finds battlefront worse.
