Thread: How do you lower casualties taken when retreating with cavalry?

Default How do you lower casualties taken when retreating with cavalry?

In my mod, i've made battles last much longer, by halving melee attack and damage, and by increasing melee defense. Killrates are much lower when in melee combat. However, I find that cavalry take too many casualties when retreating (not being broken, but disengaging from a fight) against any infantry type, regardless of where they attacked from.

Is there something in kv_rules that controls this?
Or should I just buff melee cavalry?

    Greetings,

Buffing armour and hit points of the aforementioned cavalry should work. That will also make them stronger in general, though, as I am sure you know. I do not seem to have the issue you mentioned. You said melee cav in the last line. If you are leaving lancers in melee, that could be the problem, but I assume you know that. Make a video and show the world? Meanwhile, I'll do some testing later and see what I can do.

    Respectfully,
