    Default CA_libs error

Sorry about this.Whenever I start up Medieval 2 main game it acts normal but when I start Kingdoms it just says CA_libs Medieval II had just suffered a fatal error and will now exit.Kingdoms worked for me previously before the problem. Is there any solution to this problem

Most of the times it is a matter of the CFG file for a mod, but in this case I am a bit stumped. Unless you double click the kingdoms.exe file to start a game (instead of using the correct shortcut)

You can try if your kingdoms installation is fine by downloading my small mod folder (the kingdoms version) and run it form the desktop shortcut.

The splash screen is from the basic game, on the first menu screen you should see a version number at the bottom left and on top it should say 'Bare Geomod by gigantus'. If that is the case then your kingdoms mod is working fine.

Couldn't find any version number or geomod strange I wonder why using the incorrect shortcut could cause the CA_libs error

    Please answer the following:
    1. Do you use Steam to run this game?
    2. If you do not use Steam, do you have a kingdoms.exe file in your C:\...\Medieval II Total War folder?
    3. Is this (Bare Geomod Kingdoms 1.15) the version of Bare Geomod you installed?
    4. Is this the path to your Bare Geomod installation: C:\...\Medieval II Total War\mods\Bare_Geomod?
    5. Is there a Bare Geomod short cut on your desktop?

Deleting the CFG file will cause the CA_libs error - simply run BG from the desktop shortcut.

I didn't delete the cfg file. Also when I start a campaign on the Base Geomod it goes to the vanilla campaign rather than any of the kingdoms campaigns.Just to let lyou know before this happened I modded the files of kingdoms to unlock all the factions for campaign.

    You can try this:

    1. Remove Bare Geomod completely, delete the mod folder and desktop shortcut manually.
    2. Run this tutorial from step 3 onward and then delete the medieval ii total war folder from the virtual store
    3. Download and install the kingdoms version of Bare Geomod

Gig correct me if I'm wrong, but Bare Geomod is the vanilla grand campaign, it just utilizes Kingdoms features/improvements.

There are two versions - the original 'medieval' one where I simply removed all those pesky pitfalls and made it compatible for the Geomod tool.
And the 'kingdoms' version where I did the same plus made it Steam compatible.

Both use the original map and units from the main game - one could say: 'vanilla and kingdoms basic'

Dooh - now I see what you mean I think I got confused because Random said he couldn't see the 'Bare Geomod' writing in the option screen. Bare Geomod will obviously not start ANY of the kingdoms campaigns.
The Geomod Tool however has all the files for the kingdom campaigns in it's sub directory. Simply copying those files into the correct campaign folders will set those then up for playing as well once you have copied the BAT\CFG set from Bare Geomod and adjusted the CFG file to the correct path.

BAT\CFG set are the extensions of two files in the root folder of the mod: Executable.bat and Configuration.cfg
To edit the CFG file simply open it with Notepad (right click\open with). Then change this line to reflect your mod's path: mod = mods/Bare_Geomod

You copy them into the root folder of your mod. Something like this: ...\Medieval II Total War\mods\my_mod
