Unit designation in code?
Mod seems to run fine and looks interesting but all the unit designations, whether in a buildings details or on the map, are all in some code so it's impossible to know even what to build to get an agent or any otherr particular unit. Help!

Re: Unit designation in code?
I believe that is intentional and is some way of pronouncing ancient Egyptian. I have no clue what it says either.

Yes that's intentional - check the Egypt//Kemet preview in this subforum, you'll see.
We intended to also make a version with English names, so you could choose which set you want, but we didn't do that yet.

Could you post a screeny? Just curious.
That egyptian etc is still normal type, not what he describes. Sounds like unicode, so could be a .txt file that's not been unpacked properly or whatever.
[edit:]
had it in Lusteds TE initially too, does it look like this?

Re: Unit designation in code?
I don't have the game open right now but soime units are like this-> ssmt.tik - although that might not be an actual exact unit name

Re: Unit designation in code?
Those are the egyptian names I've mentioned above.
The ssmt are horsemen, according to this thread. How we actually pronounce those names, I don't know, but they're spelled in the ancient egyptian form as good as possible.
Again, we might put up a patch where you can choose between indigenous and english names.

Re: Unit designation in code?
Pronounciation is unknown? So is there no chance of getting a semi-phonetical roman (roman symbols) version of their ancient names?

Re: Unit designation in code?
I just don't know how to pronounce them myself, but it is known to many scholars.
