pretty sure these maps are crap
I am testing them right now.
THe first map starts up-hill, lmao
These maps are not playable. Either you fight up hill, or it's a full forest.

Re: Chef's Map Pack
ever hear of constructive criticism? if all maps needed to be perfectly balanced & even, then what need is their really of anything beyond grassy plains? My attention was drawn to this comment & topic, after running into this person in the MP lobby. Where he immediately was heckling & taking pokes at & saying I should be kicked from the game. That was followed by responses from other players in the lobby saying "yeah & we should listen to this master level player who likes his elephant armies." Anyway all maps were tested, & some are imbalanced for sure & put forth a wide variation of tactics & scenarios to give different options when playing the game. Please ignore the above posters opinion & see for yourself. He has only proven himself to be a forum & lobby troll to me.

Re: Chef's Map Pack
Trepizond Bridge in particular is different to me. Team 2 starts deployed on the same side as team 1 who has a slight elevation advantage. Behind team 2's deployment their is a river, with a crossable bridge, & a nice wooded hill behind it after it is crossed. The map is taken from the Trepizond region of the campaign map & when I host it, I set team 2 as defenders. If the bridge is crossed in time & is properly defended, team 2 could easily defeat superior numbers. I was playing another of these maps I hosted in which a player claimed the map as being unbalanced & left the game after his army was quickly defeated while attacking 1 of my allies uphill & through the woods. At the same time on my side of the map, if I would have foolishly rushed my opponent, it would have also been an uphill, through some woods, probably failed attack. My point is, they are like some of the vanilla maps, & just as balanced, where you need to think, then pick & choose where you want to attack or make a defense. Yes there are maps with lots of trees. There are some with lots of open flat terrain. There's a few rivers (the Nile & Rhine to name two). I tr.ied to get a variety in the pack. Even some coastal battles, or maps with lakes dominating the layout. Variety is the spice of life. I could have been more descriptive in naming some of them, but all have pictures to go with them on the selection screen, which gives a good idea of what the field will look like. I mean there screen shots from the maps.
