Longbeards DLC Coming February 26th

Saw this post on the TW forums, apparently we're getting a DLC in the next few days. (For free if we win the Make War, Not love event)

If Total War: ROME II lands the knockout blow, the Black Sea Colonies Culture Pack will be made available for free from 18:00GMT/10:00PST on February 15 until 18:00GMT/10:00PST on February 17. The previously unannounced Longbeards Culture Pack for Total War: ATTILA will also be free for a day when it launches in late February.

Well TW lost the event. Not surprisingly when it was about Rome 2 and Attila launched at the end phase...

This faction piece-meal stuff is disappointing, but at the same time I'm way more excited for attilas culture packs compared to the R2's culture packs

In fairness, there are a lot of Germanic factions, but I think the main problem is that so many non-Germanic factions have primarily Germanic rosters.

I'd prefer a DLC that gave non-German factions rosters that are well....non-Germanic

Of course, that's totally fine. I love the diversity that Germanic factions have in Attila but the problem lies in that CA totally ignored non-Germanic barbarian cultures like the Celts, Slavs, and Sarmatians. Even the Alani faction is essentially "Germanic." Professional reviewers called CA out on the Celtic issue and in response, we get more Germanic factions.

The name Langobards is derived from Longbeards.

So Godan spotted the Winnili first and asked, "Who are these long-beards?," and Frea replied, "My lord, thou hast given them the name, now give them also the victory." From that moment onwards, the Winnili were known as the Longbeards (Latinised as Langobardi, Italianised as Lombardi, and Anglicized as Lombards).

Regarding the date: New games, etc are mostly published on a tuesday. Tomorrow is the last tuesday of february. So can we expect it tomorrow?

i hope it gives the game more unit variety, every faction using either germanic, roman or eastern units gets really boring. only the Huns feel different but thier campaign gameplay gets really boring after a while due to thier lack of ability to settle

Not really, they usually announce their DLCs at least one week before their release, so I wouldn't expect it to be released on February. Anyway, I was certain that there'd be a DLC concerning the Lombards and possibly the Burgundians or the Alemmani. Next will be the Arthur DLC, with the Celtic factions and a mini campaign, which would be probably followed by a Slavs/Magyars DLC because... nationalism.

I want an Sub-Roman Britain DLC, followed by a Gothic Wars DLC, followed by a Belisarius DLC.

And the final FULL MAP DLC I want a Clovis campaign.

I read that the CoH community found a "cheat" on getting wins....

Edit: It's strange how they've not released an update, yet they think its ready for the dishing out of DLCs.

This is the problem everyone has with DLC, why are CA so blind? It's not like I buy a tube of Pringles, then get home and realise the bottom 20 pringles have been locked off in a sealed compartment. Then five weeks later I get the key to said compartment posted through my letterbox, and "Oh boy! Lucky me! I can finish off those Pringles I paid for a month ago".

Shameless, dishonest, insulting business practice. Here's hoping the blood and gore pack comes out asap too, all this waiting is detracting from the original experience we were all supposed to be having now until the big wig executives decided to smash this game's content into hundreds of different pieces and sell them to you bit-by-bit.
