Hey Skowdey
What's the point of pre-loading when preallocating and unpacking takes just as long...

My guess would be it is a piracy or security thing.
While not quite as long as downloading the same time as everyone, I tend to agree. What's the point of pre-loading when preallocating and unpacking takes just as long...
I don't think it's as much for our convenience as it is Steam's.
Jesus this unpacking is taking forever, nearly a half hour of this.

Graphically beautiful
more taxing than Rome2 tho
on a GTX880M 22 fps nearly all maxed out vs 30 fps for Rome 2 in the benchmark
They took out Veg Alpha from graphics options. Not that I ever had it on anyways. Campaign map is butter smooth, and lovely.
SLI is not working correctly on GTX880M
no improvement when there is fire and ~10% otherwise
Unpacking for 30 minutes and now updating my graphic driver.
So far I don't like the game
Good Alpha Release.....Looking forward to the Official release next year about the same time when CA have sorted out the bugs and hopefully the AI problems....
Good going CA, you really must be proud of your hard work.....

Played my firts battle
very smooth and good looking
as always with CA this is what Rome 2 should have been
Can't form to full a picture at this early stage but yeah this game seems to follow the trajectory of the 2nd game in a time period being the much fuller experience. You can get a glance at this from the politics screen alone.
Played my first skirmish, waiting for my buddy to get online to do campaign. So far so good, the shadows don't look boxy anymore, or something, might keep them on this time. The battle played out okay, but tbh I felt kinda.... meh about it. I wasn't really into it, it was the same old hum drum send unit here, blah blah, flank with cav win. The AI did jack diddly squat the entire match. I dunno what to think, but it ran smooth enough I guess.
I did notice one fairly big issue, a lack of a previous feature (Damn I know). You can't left click and hold a unit and then drag it around like your could in Rome 2. Is it something about CA where they have to remove features that worked?
Ok first thing I noticed that irks me is the info panel for units....they ditched stats for...for... a summary which is for imbeciles!!!! Now I have to go to the online encyclopedia to get hard stats for my units. And I hate it, I want the ability to decide at a glance if the strength and weaknesses of a unit and make comparisons....sigh..this will probably be bad for mods. And also I noticed my first bug..the encyclopedia wrongly claims that my Geat Nordic levy has a missile weapon.
Well, off to fight my first battle
