    Default Graphics Crash

Says I am running the game to high and it has caused a fatal error even when I am running the game on low.

I suspect this game is an ATI fascist.

    I am running a 2.8gz AMD
    1 Gig of ram
    and a 6600 Nvidia

Seriously put the knife in, getting the game and not even getting past the menu screens. Oddly the demo worked fine.

Other than a setting under Video Options, I do not know. Also did you install the DX9c from the DVD? Also what version of Nvidia drivers do you have, because 93.71 came out.

Tried 93.71 and another user reccommended I try an older one from a while ago (I forget which it is in the basement thread under directx troubles) and of course the original 91.

I updated direct x from a number of different sources and have tried a completely clean reinstall. On the totalwarforums support I am encountering many people with similar problems whose system logs report files that can't be located.

Apparently MTW2 has major ram handling issues and this is causing a a lot of these problems.

Whether this relates to me with not being able to get to the menu screen I don't know.

FYI tried multiple DX sources including the DVD combined with multiple versions of different drivers. Admittedly not using the latest WM player because I thought it was awful but I will try it.

Can you get to the menu of M2TW does it crash out before saying M2TW will close because of a error.

Well am using 91.32 Geforce Drivers which came with my card it works well. Also go to C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War and open up system.log and post what says in there, here

I had few CTDs myself then telling me the graphics are too high when there the same used before. Luckily coped and pasted the original .cfg file and it works well

    The problem was write combining.

Got 6600GT. Same problem. Ive read a number of these complains. Only thing that ties them together is we all have 6600 series GPU. Could it be?

Its either ram or the write combine option in display properties.
