The Fourth Age: Total War - The Dominion of Men
Who the hell voted for RK's company of the guard?
For shame, the only RK unit that belongs in this thread is the citadel catapults
I like the hill trolls the most so far, because they are a very situational unit. Yesterday one of ma towns wat beset ba a Haradrim army of almost 2000 men, mostly swords of harad, me with 9 units of hill trolls. I marched out to meet them and was butchered. So a reloaded, waited for them to attack, then for them to file into the nice narrow streets and tore them to shreds.
Also what is the most kills one of your units had in battle? My best is at about 1150 easterlings (mostly watchmen) by, you guessed it, one unit of hill trolls.
The Olog-Hai are even better once you get them.
It is such a quiet thing, to fall. But far more terrible is to admit it.
Proud supporter and fan of Fourth Age: Total War
I'm not sure the CotG could either, the main problem with this unit(and a lot of RK's units) is that they have no stamina, so they quickly tire in combat.
The CotG even get tired walking which does not make them an "I win" unit
The Citadel catapults on the other hand are an excellent unit, they can deal with all the tough stuff mumkil's, trolls, elves, dwarves and hobbit bounders
They also allow you to assault on the first turn and take out those overpowered towers, this for me is closer to an "I win" unit
They can. I've tried it. They also eat everything thrown at them, even trolls (iven enough time).
True, but their aim is crap and they're weak in melee. And vulnerable to missiles. And very slow. And can't move through forests. And they also slow down your army on the strat map. Mind you, if you do get off a flaming shot on a clump of units, they kill an absurd amount of soldiers in one fell swoop. So definitely a powerful unit, but very dependent un the situation. The Citadel catapults on the other hand are an excellent unit, they can deal with all the tough stuff mumkil's, trolls, elves, dwarves and hobbit bounders

I haven't played with the Elves yet, or fought them (thank the Valar), but Durin's Guard is definitely an "I win" unit. They look and fight like mithril-armed carved-stone champions. Probably my favorite unit in the game.
One's back is vulnerable, unless one has a brother.

I'm disappointed my Spider Cavalry Olog-Hai using steel bows didn't make the cut.
Don't worry, neither did the pink strangling Nazgűl G-string.
I would rather have a memory that is fair but unfinished than one that goes on to a grievous end.
By the way, Company of the Guard (RK, Guards of the Citadel) is already present in campaign, but Company of the Guard (AD, Guards of the Tower) isn't. Will it be fixed in release version? And what about Olog-Hai? I miss them so much, these stupid Hill Trolls are no match for them...
P.S. Wain Bows? I call IT Whine Bows. Definetly OP, 30 ammo are still too much IMHO.
