Default Shut down MMOs kept alive by their communties

Recently, I came across Return of Reckoning, a private server for Warhammer Online. As it turns out, Warhammer Online was shut down a year ago, so fans of it decided to create their own server, in order to continue to play it. Its coming along pretty well, with the first area unlocked and RvR working well.

Are there any other MMOs out there that have been shut down, but fans have brought it back?

Star Wars Galaxies has a private server that continued it after the game was shut down. The SWG Emulator, but I've never tried it out as I never bought SWG (Boo subscription fees! )

Huh... I first misunderstood this as a call to shut down MMOs that are still being kept alive by their communities...

I know that I saw on reddit a year ago about some Disney MMO being reviewed by community but do not know where is that now. MMO had Town in its name
