There is only one scripter/codder, it is me. I try to release this project.
I don't know if I will have the time to replace the horses.
For the moment, the 8 religions are:
- Eastern Christianity (Orthodox, Miaphysite, Nestorian)
- Latin Christianity (Catholic)
- Sunni Islam (Sunni and Ibadi)
- Shia Islam (Zaydi, Imami, Ismaili)
- Dualist beliefs (Bogomil, Zoroastrism, Manicheism)
- Hinduism (Hindu, Jainism)
- Buddhism (Buddhism, chinese ancestral cults, "three ways")
- Pagan Polytheism (Tengrism, Shamanism, Animism, magic beliefs)
But two other religions could be added.
Can't wait to play, this faction looks so awesome!
Asides from the two that may be added, are those the set ideas for the religions or is there still room for tweeks?
If I can suggest, maybe rename the Hinduism religion as 'Dharmic religions', and then have a Chinese religion instead of Buddhism, maybe call it Shenism (AKA Chinese folk religion).
So it would be...
- Dharmic beliefs (Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism)
- Chinese beliefs (Confucianism, Taoism, Ancestor worship)
Would that be a good idea or a bad idea? You may have grouped Buddhism with the Chinese religions because of the 'three ways' thing and to represent Chinese ways of thinking in contrast to the Indian factions, and that would make a lot of sense.
Can you tell me more about how religions work in this mod, is there going to be any distincion involving these sub groups? Like with Bogomil followers and Zoroastrians.

@Yayattasa, I don't know where you might read that, but they are a lot of proofs that both Persians and Mongols used Bactrian Camels as mount for war.
@Jamesthered Hinduism and Buddhism would not be renamed, because it would loose it meanings for a majority of players.
Intern distinctions should be individual traits for generals and agents, affecting loyalty.
Hooraay!!! My lust for BC is up again! hopefully not long to the new release!!!
EB II is finally out! ...NOW!!!...
Hey, I know this isn't a particularly liked question, and I'd be satisfied with any answer at all.
Judging by the preview the mod should be out soon. How soon though?
A day or two, a few days, weeks or more?
I'm asking because I'm eager to start playing Broken Crescent 2.3, but I'd hate to do that only for the new version to release right after.
Should I start or wait? Thanks.
As opposed to the Liao Dynasty, the Kara-Khitai were more Buddhist than Daoist or Confucian in practice. So the three jewels aspect is not really applicable. The Khitans were primarily Buddhist, of course with a bit of steppe and Chinese flavour. The source for this is Michal Biran The Empire of the Qara-Khitai in Eurasian history pg 172-5
Excellent preview I cant wait to play 2.4 BC is one my favourite TW mods ever. I was just wondering if there will be any more faction spots after 2.4 because the city of Kiev is on the campaign map (I sacked it as the Romans) have you ever considered implementing the Kievan Rus as a faction in future updates? I know its not easy to implement a faction as unique as the Rus and I am certainly not suggesting trading the Rus for any factions in game or any you have planned to be in future versions of the mod it would just be a pretty fun faction to start of with by fighting the steppe nomads that are harassing your towns and lands. Maybe the Rus would be a good sub mod?
Anyway I'm looking forward to playing the next version of the mod, Nice work BC team!!
Excellent Work, well done Byzantine Boy and team, looking forward to playing this =)
Can't wait good work you doing.
Nice preview of an interesting and exotic faction... the melee camel units look like fun to mess around with.
