Axes of the Wolf charging downhill into a (doomed) RK general:



A hill defense is ideal for Dunland, even more so than woodlands (where most of their units get a combat bonus). Lots of your units carry javelins, and lots of them are great on the attack, so charging downhill (after unleashing a war-cry) into some tired soldiers is incredibly effective. Combine this with the armour-piercing attack of units like Hillmen and Axes of the Wolf, and the fear effect of Wolfhunters or War-hounds, and you have a recipe for a rout against units that are far superior to yours on paper.

(Need to fiddle with my settings obviously; but you can think of the crappiness of the resolution as giving this a 'painterly' quality )

Indeed, Bree is my military center in Eriador, even if I took Fornost, Threeways, Sarnford, Lastbrige and I few others. It's just a matter of time before I finally kick Adunabar out of the North and have finally some peace over there.

Nice! Are you using a console command or something to get those zoomed-in and angled shots?

Nope, usually I use '-movie_cam' but only when I want to take screenshots during a replay. Since the custom cities aren't available in custom battles, I began a campaign with Rohan and clicked on 'view settlement on the battlemap' in the settlement overview screen. Then I put choose 'Total War camera' instead of 'RTS camera' in the option, that way you can go up and down using '+' and '-'.
