Unbelievable! Amazing work!

I purposely left space between the harbor and the buildings so you can get around In fact, I fought a battle by moving all my troops to that gate and attacking from there. It was 'interesting', to say the least. I was going to just fill it all in with buildings...but this particular layout\city is pretty taxing video-wise, so I thought it best not to add anymore than I had to to make it look nice. Besides, the slope toward the sea makes it hard to place buildings.

imo the amount of buildings outside the wall is good,to mutch and it will be hard to more through them, are you planning to do the same for city's without a harbour?
maybe adding some fields around the city with some small farmhouses attached to it.to represent them as more agricultural settltements...others with more houses around to represent more
important city's for recruiting?
anyway great work

Yes. The more I work on this, the more I realize than 'some' external buildings don't hurt anything as long as you keep them away from the walls and gates.
However, that may be a project for 'after' this project, since it requires that every single settlement be 'unique'. Because the lay of the land around every city is different, you just can't throw in buildings outside them without actually looking at each one and specifically individualizing every settlement. I'm not against that, because I think it would be super realistic, but it would take a LONG time to do that. So one step at a time.
