I wish there was a Nobel Prize for gaming or modding so you could win it.

Agreed , but I don't care about a bunch old men in some dusty Swedish academy, I've already given my personal Nobel Prize to DVK and RSII!
My personal Nobel Prize is made by hour and hours of pure fun and intellectual pleasure playing this masterpiece, it's made by tons of posts I've read for years and years on this forum showing me how much work has been devoted to this awesome masterpiece, my personal Nobel Prize is made of personal esteem for one of the greatest modder I've met on the Net!
So, thanks DVK, thank you very much, my good sir, from one of the casualties of the total "clades" (Latin for "total defeat") known as Rome 2 TW!

Very nice comments. Thank you. Still, remember that I was not the only one who worked on this. Tone, especially, deserves a ton of credit.

Now, on to the Egyptian settlements:

Here you'll see a typical Egyptian town-large town...one that grows with the walls expanding to allow more room for the people:

Note in these pictures you may see that there are buildings by the walls, in between them and the settlement's roads. I did a bit of testing here and discovered that the AI has no issues with this as long as the sections of 'walls' that are around these buildings aren't technically considered 'walls'. When you mouse over them, they're called 'towers'....which means that the AI cannot attack those sections. So there are no AI army units getting stuck in these buildings either for the defenders or the attackers.

    And, an overview:

Building these basic or 'default' settlements has given me a lot of good ideas for how I'm going to handle the larger cities like Alexandria and Carthage. I've even dicovered some more interesting RTW buildings that one never knew were there that will be useful for ports and such.

And a WIP, the Egyptian city, which will have a slightly Greek influence mixed in with the local culture:

Nice. Technically I don't expand that far South in my Roman Campaigns, but I like how they look. Those who are working on the next patch, you're amazing!

I was thinking what Egyptian cities really need a different kind of low level wall/stockade. Since you know building a wooden stockade in the middle of a dessert would be pretty tough. You would need a lot of palm trees. Shouldn't the lower level be a mud brick type wall? Is that accurate? Is that even possible?

Unfortunately, no. We're stuck with the wooden walls.

Here is the first of the completed Carthaginian cities...several shots from different angles:

From the top of the temple looking at the bazaar.

Another shot from the temple roof looking back at the Governor's villa.

    Closer detail of bazaar:

Looking in over the walls (which I re-textured and fixed, CA had one of the Eastern wall textures upside down.)

Have to finish the towns now, and then on to custom cities...Carthage, Alexandria, etc.
Sorry my screenshots aren't that great...looks much better in real life.

...and here is the latest sneak peak of the new city of Carthage:

Didn't know if I could pull off building that huge port, but it's coming along nicely.

    Better shot from the front:

Haven't had time to play any RS2 in months with uni work and life being busy lately but always like to check this forum for the latest developments. The level of beauty and dedication that has gone into this is at a whole different standard, simply outstanding. Knowing that such hard and genuine interest is keeping this mod alive makes it ever more enjoyable to play. Thank you DVK!
